Route 32 - Central/Northern MA

Does anyone know the current condition of this road?

Looking to follow 32 up into NH tomorrow, but hit some bad
roads out that way and want to make sure this isn't a
gravel pit.

Welcome to my town.

Rt.32 is currently being surveyed by the state of massachusetts since it was recently found to be the worst state road in the entire commonwealth. Paving is expected to begin next summer, possibly as early as August.



It's even rough on the KLR. Good luck.

I'm thinking of just taking 31 to 68 for our ride up to Keene

68 actually meets 32 in Royalston where is gets REALLY bad. 32 up to the center of town, but stay straight and go up North Fitzwilliam Road. This will turn into Royalston Road in Fitzwillian and plop you out on Rt.119 just west of the Rt12/119 intersection. From there you can head west to 32 and then go North through Swanzy. It's decent on the NH side.

(you'll be about 4 miles from my house on N.Fitzwilliam)

Boring, trafficy and not fun.

Do like I said and it will give you a couple more jollies with less townie traffic. There is some fresh pavement and twisties on N. Fitzwilliam too when it turns to NH (not a lot, just a few).

+1 to Clayton, I can't think of one corner on 68 other then the traffic circle in Gardner.
