    Unhappy Friend in accident

The details are sketchy, but I just found out my friend Ben got hit by a car on his motorcycle in Nashua. My best friend just told me that he is in the ER in Nashua and is going for X-Rays. Hope he is alright

Just got an update from my friend:

He is in X-Ray right now, he probably hurt his bad shoulder again and his knee might be messed up a little bit. He was wearing his helmet and had a sweatshirt on.

He just got his bike about 2 or 3 months ago and I have been trying to convince him to get a jacket but I don't think he had gotten one yet. I hope this doesn't stop him from riding again because he told me everytime we rode how much he loved it.

Just got an update from his friend that was with him- They were in Merrimack Near Cinemagic and went through an intersection with a difficult to see red light and Ben missed the red light and went through the intersection and was T-Boned by a Honda. His shoulder dislocated but he popped it back in and he hurt his knee but we do not know the extent of the damage yet.

Another reminder ... gear is good ... especially if the rider is not.

I crashed a month ago ... armor and textiles did their job.
It ain't like I am better than him ... just more paranoid about my abilities
and the lack of abilities of everyone else.

I know that intersection. It is a VERY hard light to see.

I hope that he is alright.

He is doing okay, I talked to him last night, he flew about 20 feet when he got hit by the car, his shoulder is doin okay and his knee/leg is really bruised. He should be going to pick up the bike today from the tow yard.

Insurance is coming to look at the bike tomorrow.

Apparently the Tow Company just put a chain on his bike and dragged it onto the flat bed. Then when they got to the yard, they just put the flat bed up and let the bike slide off because when my friends dad went to pick it up it was lying on its side next to a fence.

He said he was hit in the front wheel, so the forks are tweaked and the frame may be bent. I told him to go see Dr. Kates, but the insurance is coming tomorrow so he won't be able to get it down there by then.

He and I may be going bike shopping next week.
