A few nights ago I rode to walmart in williston and I had a problem with my headlight and I need advice. The low beam bulb on my 08 ZX6 will NOT stay in the socket. I put it in, and rotate it just as i did the high beam (and every other automotive light i've changed) but the problem is, i dont feel the stop. The bulb will keep turning past where it would normally stop. This is the first occurance of this happening with the bulb.
I can tell by looking at the bulbs base that it's messed up, just because the metal part (that fits into the headlight assembly) isnt sitting straight, it's at an odd angle and i had to straighten it. After getting the bulb in, or so i felt, the bulb fell out of place again today.
I've called DDM tuning to speak to them and they've asked me to RMA the bulb. But in the mean time i'm wondering, is it possible that whereve the bulb sits in the headlight housing is effed up. (sorry for lack of technical terms) What if the track that the metal goes in is groved or wrecked... Is this even a possibility?
Does anyone have a spare H9 bulb that is blown preferably i can borrow and attempt to fit and see what's wrong? I'm not going to go on the 300 mile ride home with my low beam bulb not staying secured.
