I ordered a replacement key from razees. It came blank and they told me I would have to get it cut. They said thu didn't know where I could get it cut. I have the key card. I was under the impression that Ducati cut and programmed all replacement keys. But, that's not what they are telling me. Any help is appreciated.
A good Locksmith should be able to do this, $40 or so.
I had a new key made for a Ninja ex250, from the "key code" (ie. not a copy from an existing key). I imagine the Ducati card has this "key code".
PM Larnz, he's a locksmith.
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
If you don't have the red key for the bike, you'll need to get your ECU zapped so it no longer requires chipped keys as you won't be able to program any new ones to it.
As far as cutting the key, find a locksmith, that's the easy part.
Just PM'd you info on a locksmith friend of mine. Hope it helps...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
You have to get past the Eye of Sauron and travel to Mordor with a brick gold and your key blank. Then you must to pay the Ducati premium, and sign your soul over to the dark side. Only then will your replacement key be made from the blank you have provided. Oh, and the brick of gold will be taken from your possession.
