This last weekend I stopped into Nault's of Manchester to check out the latest Ducati collection. Sitting on the floor was a wide assortment of the usual Monsters and full-fairing sportbikes, but in one corner there was a funky looking creation called the Multistrada.
I wasn't sure what to make of it. It looked like a cross between an on/off-road enduro and a naked sportbike. The strangest feature of all was the front half-fairing. The lower half was attached to the frame of the bike, while the upper half pivots with the handlebars (good for aiming the headlights when turning).
Overall it looked like a nicely crafted machine (typical Ducati fit & finish, with the eposed trellis frame). However, the styling is definitely a love it/hate it affair.
Has anyone heard anything about this bike? It seems to have a nice comfortable riding position, but I was wondering how it performed in the real world. It appeared to be air-cooled, which seems to be taking a step backwards, in my opinion.
