Left at 730 this morning. Buzzed up an empty, but wet 116. I had one little slip right were that last fatality occured in conway
Breakfast at Elmer's in Ashfield, stop to rescue Ken C from bathroom renos and we're off to the races. Roads stayed wet pretty much into the afternoon.
Ken peeled off to return to the chores and My buddy smmy and I continued north. Did some exploring of roads, hit some dirt with great views of Mt snow and some greasy clay spots. Looped around to the windmills via some secret roads.
Sammy peeled off for home and I cruised down 8a to charlemont for fuel. I pull in and 2 pairs of motard/adventure bikes are there. One guy turns out to be pestilence from this site
The other guys are headed my way, so I tag along. Its a husky 610 with dualies and a EX650 with crashbars and avon distanzias (or whatever the big lugged 17s are called). The guy wants to lead, so I follow. We head up east hawley rd turn onto bozrah rd. and hit the dirt. This dude is haulin on the EX and I'm having to focus and ride foot out to keep up. I'm on track rubber, but still, I was surprised. The guy did say he ran off the road earlier in the day though. Ballsy.
Anyway we zig and zag dirt and pavement around Hawley State Forest before dumping out in Ashfield again. I cruise down 116 which is drying, but there are 2 cops in the twisties, so I'm just trawling.
Monkey but is setting in from the rock hard stock seat, so I stand up tall for a lot of the way home. People don't know what to make of that, but it's fun. I even stood up cruising at 70or so. Leaning into the wind like a ski jumper allowed me to just lock the knees and relax. Cool feeling.
Blah, blah, blah, that's what 150 miles on a motard in western MA is like.
jealous! wanted to ride so bad today, was hoping to join that BORN sumo ride but just couldn't sneak the time. would have been funny to run into you out therebut i would have mentioned anyway.

Sounds like fun! I did a little motardin' on my CB550 w/ street rubber yesterday (as mentioned/pictured in my hey femmekat thread), but yours sounds like more fun and was def. more miles. Good work, great read!
We left you then up 8a then took the Colrain road down to 112 to Ashfield
We saw the 2 leos on 116 and were nominally speeding but they didn't move. I think the lower one was an empty scarecrow

The best was Nixon when asked if he had ever been to a communist country ?
"Well I've been to Massachusetts"
Like most states 30 miles away from Boston the real America starts
