what are the best earphones to wear with/under helmet?

+1 on skullcandy ink'd. i was looking at the big money shures and such but i figured id try the 20 dollar target jobs. works well, cancels wind noise. funny thing is i love the sound of my bike, but over a certain mph or on the highway i cant hear shit but wind.

I wear skull candy. They cost me about $50. They have great sound, feel really comfortable, and I use them at the track (without music playing) instead of ear plugs.
They seem to block out more noise then regular ear plugs.

helmet headset consists of 2 speakers, mic & noise sensor, placement of the components is fussy to set up, try it, go for a ride, adjust, try again, I got mine on the 3rd time

once you have it set, your done, I have my Zumo GPS/mp3, Valentine 1, FRS bike to bike, rider to pillon and bluetooth to cell phone all connected, I wear no earplugs, my helmet is as quiet at 100mph as it is at 35mph, crystal clear stereo mp3s with no increase in volume, automatic muting for radar alarms or other comunications

Not promoting Marshall's, but they have Skullcandy earphones/ plugs for $9.99. They have a couple of different size earpieces in the package, and several different colors.
I don't use them while riding, but they do seem to block out the lawnmower noise.

The part that goes in your ear is made of a material similar to actual ear plugs. So you roll them up a bit and they expand in your ear canal. They do a good job of blocking out noise the same way ear plugs would.

I think my ear canals are funky too because most other ear bud style headphones don't do a good job of staying in.

Another plus is that they're cheap and bass is good.

I got $750 into it so far for the Autocom unit, cables, PTT stitch bluetooth adaptor... don't have anyone that rides on the back regular yet, so I didn't get a second headset for a passenger, the headset is fussy enuf, you want to make it a semi permenent mount, until you replace the helmet

there are other comm systems that have similar features, Autocom is the only one that guarantees music quality to over 100 and voice at ANY speed

the only negative beside price is that they don't work well with CB....

I use these motorola bluetooth ones with my phone. It is kind of a pain to get the helmet on, but once it is, they are really comfortable. The only time they bother me is if they are in for 3+ hours.

Skull candy sounds good.

And you should not get in trouble by the po-leece. If they make it up to your bike after pulling you over before you have your helmet off and the earbuds out, you need to move faster. Just pop em out, suck em into the jacket. And the officer will appreciate you taking off your helmet. Everyone plays, everyone wins!!!

The older version is better because the ends, the part that is outside the ears, are smaller and round. That makes them much easier to get on under a helmet. But beware. I have an old pair of these that I use and think is great. I recently bought another set and it is crap. It looks similar, but sounds completely different. I don't know if all the new ones are the same as the ones that I recently bought (on Amazon). BTW you can make your own in-ear plugs from standard foam earplugs and a piece of shrink wrap tubing and they are better than the ones that come with it.

Skullcandy doesen't have these on their 2009 site yet it looks like, so only got the Amazon one. I saw these tonight at Best Buy for 40$ and got em to see how they work.

So far they are pretty nice though admittedly thats just walking around the house with them on under the helmet. I won't have an opportunity to see how well they work longterm-worn until this weekend or so.

Best sound/most isolating and most comfortable ones I have used.
And I have been through alot of different ones. They're low profile enough
to have you take your helmet on and off without getting yanked out.
