What kind of exhaust do you have?

I am in the market trying to find a good replacement for the stock can that came on my 1997 ZX7R. I like the quietness of the bike now but it could be a little louder and I have heard the replacements are a lot lighter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Jesse,

I have a 98 ZX-7R. I'm running Micron's Race system with the scorched Titanium canister. BUT, it's one of the LOUDEST systems on the market. The street versions are ALOT quieter than the race system ! My system weigh's about 6 pounds. The factory system weighs about 28 pounds total. Plan on spending more money for a jet kit to go with the exhaust though.

Check this site out. MUCHO info for our 7R's. I'm a member there as well.

Micron, Hindle, and Muzzy. Those are my 3 choices. In that order.

Vance and Hines carbon SS2R slip-on on the FZR1000.

Looking at an Akro slip-on for Double"D"s ZX-10R for next season when they have had more time for development.

If you got a Ninja you got to get a Muzzy pipe after all Rob Muzzy was built on Ninjas....Plus Muzzy has that "cool sound" factor!

Check them out, A slip on will gain you low end power to mid, and a full system will give you power mid to high end. I personally dont like full systems. I'm not into high power at 13K I want more power at 5-6k. Thats just me.

What I would do is go to a forum strictly for your bike(not sure if there is one). You will get the best knowledge for your particular bike on that site. You will find out which one will get you the most power, which one fits the best, which one sounds the loudest etc etc.

I went to a Hayabusa forum and learned what the top three exhaust were for my bike then picked from there.

For my Busa full system exhausts ranged in price from $500.00 all the way up to and over $1500.00. It all depends on what you are looking for, but those forums are the best place to get info.

Off the top of my head, just from what I have read if I had a Kawasaki, I would go with Muzzy.
