Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
i can get on board with what jwm is saying. its great having more power, but if you cant control it then whats the point? suspension (and tires) will help you be able to use more of the available power more frequently.
you could take 2 identical bikes and put proper suspension on one and go significantly faster on that bike.
if all youre looking for is straight line top speed highway runs with your buddies, then just the bottle to it and be done.

true...youll need 2 bottles then

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
the pipe is already pretty good for being stock. Also, the pipe (header) is Ti + my slip-on. I'll be just fine. a 50 shot will be more than enough. My friend has an 08 cbr 1000rr. As most of us know, those bikes have the torque like the 05-06 GSXR 1000's have. I would love to race him just a tad (not being stupid, just to see if one of us would pull away). I have -1 up front and a slip-on, he has just a slip-on. I plan to get a pcV next year as well. Would be a good race. Have not seen a race with those two bikes on youtube yet.

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?

Just curious.

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
Everyone can play safe. It all depends on if there is traffic and how fast you go.
Please don't say that you have never in your life used a throttle all the way for a bit. Even by your self. Don't be a hypocrite. Everyone has done it AT LEAST once in their life. In a car or bike, or whatever else it would be in.
If not, then you must be Jesus, and do everything right in life.

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
Everyone with sportbikes would sound stupid if we all said we didn't like to go fast. If that was the case, we would ride 250cc. Even then you can go 80mph.

True, single dumbest thing I have ever done. There are a lot of things on that list too.
I started going to NEdragway when I was 17. "Pulling away" from some doesn't tell you much, not like numbers. Plus you get to meet other people who are into the same thing.
After doing trackdays, riding a motorcycle fast on the street is just plan dumb, sorry, it is. and pointless.

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
to add value, I'd get the PC-V then a pipe.

Re: is a new, full exhaust worth the money?
racing in general is pointless to be honest. who has the most hp, really?
Yes, everyone does it. It's part of life. There is a time where everyone was stupid.
Even the drags isn't safe. You are going fast. Even having leathers, helmet for a bike, a person STILL can get hurt. Same goes for cars. Unfortunately, people STILL die on the tracks. Let's not forget that.

Completely agree ! Just saying that everyone has done it in their life. Also, racing in general is stupid. Just not AS stupid as the street bc of the extra gear and on a track. But, it is something we LOVE and have a passion for. Thats all.
No matter where we hit the gas, we need to be as safe as possible !! That is the most important.

On a drag strip or race track the chance of hurting someone who doesn't understand and accept the risk is almost nil.
