I dont store my bike over the winter. I just dont take it out in the snow and ice. Heated liner and gloves! Good to go!
I love late fall riding -- when leaves are cleared off trees and roads --but before the ice, snow and salt.
Brisk days, warm gear and site lines open up nicely around what were foliage blinded twisties!
Heat up the tires and its game on...!

I fully agree!
One of the best times to ride.
Can't wait to get my bike back!!

What heated gear do you use Dave?
I have Widder gloves, but they are out of business. I may be looking to get a vest, which may mean changing over to another brand.
I just read good things about the new Gerbing stuff.
Had the older Gerbing...liked it fine. Have the Warm and Safe liner and gloves from First Gear. Works good too. Seacoast carries these and has a pretty good selection in stock!

Agreed. Fall riding rules.
As for electrics, I highly recommend Tourmaster Synergy stuff. Much less expensive than Gerbing, but in typical Tourmaster fashion, the quality is good and it works extremely well. I picked up the vest and have gotten a lot of use out of it. Toasty warm!

Agree!
I picked up the First Gear heated gloves & jacket liner from Seacoast (in stock) last year. I used them Sunday to check out the new connections on my Buell -- nice.
Dave -- any ill effects from salt residue on dry winter roads?

And don't believe everything you think.

I have heated gear on the way. Looking forward to riding more after the roads clean up. Hello sightlines! Just need people to ride with. It gets boring always going out by yourself.

So just to double check here... no need for special tires etc for these cold days? What entails heating up the rubber?
I'm still going to try to push it as long as I can to ride my bike.. the cold doesn't get to me much since I'm a crazy canuck.. the fear of slippery roads bothers me though.![]()
I have been riding all year for a long time. A Gerbing liner and heated gloves makes it very comfortable. As long as the roads are clear it is a great time to ride.
I see a few here ride all year. I bet we have passed many times over the winters. You do take notice of other bikes on a 20 degree day.
See you on the road

fall foliage ride anyone?
ill ride down to the teens without heated gear, just layers and heated grip wraps. too bad i crashed my bike, id love to do some riding now, but i have no money to repair the few things i need to put it back together. hopefully ill have it ready for a xmas eve ride or something.
nine times out of ten its an electric razor, but...every once in a while...its a dildo. of course its company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo, we have to use the indefinite article "a" dildo ...and not..."your"...dildo...
I also ride year round...ya just have to pay attention to the weather reports a bit more.
The best part about riding in the winter; especially when there's been a snowfall but the streets are clear days later, are the looks of "are you nuckin futs" from folks in cars.![]()
Fuck riding in the cold.

Whats the warmest thing I could fit under my leathers? Been rocking the under armor....but last weekend was a bit cold, I wanted to crawl into my exhaust while I was riding![]()
