come take a raider for a test ride.... 'nuf said
I rode the Raider and the VMAX would kick it's ass.
a vmax beat me in the 1/4 mile everytime we lined up... fastest i could run was 11.1 at 124mph and he was in the mid 130's every trap... all he had done was hollowed cats and something that allowed more gas to flow but wasnt a power commander brand... idk what it was.
Split the difference? XR1200X now available in USA.

I just bought a 2005 Road King. And I must say I love it. I bought it for the comfort, and the price. Its definitly one of the most comfortable bikes I've ridden. The performance is less than desirable. But I bought it knowing it wasn't a wheel spinning road eating machine. My next bike will be a Triumph bobber from.

I would love a HD VRod NightRod
Go test ride the Victory. They handel, accellerate and brake awesome. You will be pleased.
wheres the rest of the seat on that HD sportster? It looks rad though! big tires look cool but - a valkyre dude at bike week last year had automobile radials on his because the bike ones only get 3,000 miles, he told me turning was a bitch!
Check Boston CL for an 07 vrod in N. Andover, looks clean, and the price just dropped $1000 and he added OBO -- now's your chance! I'd look at it, but I'd have to sell off a couple of bikes to make room in the garage haha

I sold my confederate about a year ago and now only have a roadglide.
now, don't get me wrong, it doesn't corner great (grinds floorboards) and isn't "fast" (it weighs 800# and only has about 100hp. . . .
But it's the best bike I've ever owned. 8 hour days of rising is no problem, cruise control, radio, and radar detector.
I'm still searching for something "special", but I'll always have a roadglide now too
MOM's south in Foxboro will be having an Open House this weekend and all VICTORY's are on sale.
I'll be working Saturday down there come visit ...
How about $3,500? In these troubled economic times, Sportsters are nearly free.

WOW. Even with it being what it is, I'd even consider (I said consider, not def buy) one of those. That is a good deal.
To keep this thread going, I have to say, that Vmax growl is like nothing else out there. Took the wife out on it for the first time over the weekend and the suspension was surprisingly supple and controlled over the crap pavement we have in this part of the state. Still needs a better back seat/backrest (Corbin GF+L is sloped to shit, she ends up half in my seat most of the time, same on my ZRX with same seat), some better front brakes and Intiminators for riding solo since I don't have the mass to get that front fork to respond at all.
Still amazed at the comments and stares I get from the leather vested crowd. "Oh man, is that a Vmax? I've always wanted one of those....."
Dealers apparently havent gotten the message. An outfit called CollectibleTrader in NH listed an 04 with 8100 miles on eBay. Top bid was $4.550 but it didn't meet Reserve and he's relisted it. Another dealer offered one with a Buy It Now price of $7,295!
Not a great time to be buying bikes, though - everyone wants one for the 4th of July weekend...
