Brakes ...Calipers Specifically .... How many different styles?

Here is my question: How many different bolt patterns / spacing is there on Front brake calipers?

Let me throw out my scenario ......

I have a set of 2000 Ducati Monster M900 Showa USD forks , that will be attached to my 04 Bonneville via a set of harris performance billet triple trees. I hope to be using a stock Monster front wheel.

Do I have be searching for Ducati / Showa specific calipers?

There are lots of different scenarios, I'd just find something from the same year. For example, older monster calipers had much narrower spacing, 40mm or something. I think they changed in 99 or so.
