Frame Sliders are a Good Thing

My bike got knocked off it's kickstand today while I was at work (backed into by an SUV). I was *not* happy, expecting the worst. But when I got out there and picked it up, there was absolutely nothing wrong other than a (very) slightly scuffed case cover, mirror, and turn signal. And of course, a scuffed frame slider. Not a single scratch on the plastic.

Well, it was my father's damn SUV. So keying it wouldn't have been entirely appropriate, I suppose.

...I may go kick the bumper at lunchtime. I think I still have residual anger.

I wish I could install them on my bike...no frame sliders for the little 250...

Frame Sliders are a Good Thing

i dropped mine in my garage last year (barely missed landing on my husband's aprilia) and the frame slider really saved most of the plastic. i ended up with a couple of small scratches on the lower and a dent in the exhaust can from landing on the cement threshold in the garage. definately a good investment.

He's more of a libertarian, I think. We disagree a bit on some economic issues, and I'm pretty fiscally conservative myself.

Most of the volunteer rescue workers around here have SUVs. Supposedly it makes it easier to truck around your gear and yank it out in a hurry.

Either way, the Ram gets 15 mpg on a good day, and the eclipse sucks premium at around 18mpg, so I'm no longer in any sort of position to lecture on gas guzzling

Yes I don't suppose they do much in case of fire. But for those of us whose bikes rarely, if ever, spontaneously combust, they are a good investment.

Given your history, you might be better off investing in some kind of sprinkler system
