Let's hope they don't start doing this here
Motorcyclists at the head of a group of riders will face stiffer penalties for speeding under a crown court ruling.
Being the lead rider in a group is an aggravating factor making you partly responsible for speeding offences of those behind you according to the decision.
The ruling can be applied in any future cases where two or more motorcyclists riding together are accused of speeding. The head rider might be only a few mph over the limit but could be given the same penalty as the worst offender behind.

Yet another ridiculous law in the UK. They're certainly racking up a lot of them...

You've never been at the tail of a long pack? I have, lead bike may only be doing 55mph to 60mph, the tail may be climbing past 80mph in sections when the pack finishes stretching out and starts to recoil back together. Hell, there have been times I've ridden near the back just to use the slinky effect to 'clean the carbon off the valves' on the ST3...![]()

That's Smart.
what ever happened to "ride your own ride"
I have been on countless group rides over the years both as a leader and as a follower and it is definately true that the further toward the back of the pack you are , the faster you have to ride to keep up with the front, especially if passing cars is involved .
But it still all comes down to an individual on their own machine .
I guess with this logic the next time you are in your car on the high way and get pulled over , blame the guy in front of you because he was speeding and you were only following him , it can;t possibly be your fault.
