I think the pictures in the link you posted are incorrect. While that is a pretty crazy road, the one in Boliva is more treacherous.
Here is an article on it with a couple of pictures. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programme...nt/6136268.stm
The Discovery channel had a show about it where they filmed a guy making the trip across. Looks like a great place for dirtbikes!

And that is a 2-way road!

looks like I need to buy a SM for that trip![]()

2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 (retarded fun)
All the pictures are the same road. I have a friend going there to mountain bike.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
another site with bigger pics of that road

you can see why people die there - stupid fuckin tourists standing in the middle of the road to take pictures, a truck comes and SLAM - dead tourist.
looks like fin if it were closed - I don't think I'd want to be on it with the local truckers there in the middle of the road.
Bras cause cancer.
Discovery channel has the "Death Road" as a story just recently, that shit is F ed up.
Some locals say that the ghosts of people who have died there are a cause of some of the accidents.
But 1000' cliffs no thanks!

Friendship is like peeing in your pants,
Everyone can see it,
But only you can feel the true warmth.
gaurd rail must not translate into Bolivian or some thing.
I think guard rail translates fine - They probably have trouble with Liability Suit...Originally posted by Evil_Weasel

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
I saw that. Some local made himself a job by sitting at the edge stopping traffic and making them tip him. He sits there with a red and green paddle directing traffic. Does it just so that people are safe and so he can make a quick pay to feed his children.Originally posted by capt1014

but yeah the ghosts apprenlty kill the most people. I personally think its the nasty fog and peoples imagination that gets them a ticket to the pearly gates.
"Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them"
If you read the replies under it it seems like that road in their pictures is some where in China, not South America.
that guy making trying to make a quick buck lost both his wife and kid in a crash and does that for saftey.Originally posted by NinjaSwan

And the road is not in china, it is in Bolivia, no matter how it "seems".

It looks like there are two different roads here. The one carved into the side of the rock does have guardrails of some form or another and the road contrustion actually looks pretty sound albeit in a dangerous place. The other road carved into the side of the mountain with no pavment looks like the one in Bolivia.Originally posted by hessogood

I have never been to either place though and only heard about it here.
