Gimme a hand picking summer gear

Trying to pick out some summer gear. For now, give me a hand choosing jacket/boots.

Boots. I've narrowed down boots to two options (though if anyone knows of any other good ones, feel free to chime in). I'm looking for a boot that will be cool in the summer and that I can also wear in the spring/fall, and I don't care all that much about waterproof-ness.

    Alpinestars Recon Boots.

Jacket. Again, I'm looking for a jacket that I can wear in the hot hot hot weather we get here, but also wear in the cool fall/spring days. Most of the mesh jackets come with windproof/waterproof liners, but I don't know how breathable they are. Then there's a few jackets that have multiple layers, come with quilted liners and convert to mesh etc. Thoughts on which are best are welcome.

Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Mesh jacket

The top two are "convertible" jackets, the bottom one is a straight mesh jacket. I welcome any and all opinions and help on this (especially if anyone has any experience with these particular jackets/boots).

    thanks!

Hmm where to begin... We will start with a full leather race suit, and then your gonna want a bullet proof vest, either on the out side of the leather or inside, doesn't really matter because over all that your gonna want a bomb-blast suit, then your gonna want some good racing full length gloves(probably best if they come up to your elbos, but shoulders would be better) with some titanium steel mesh over them. Hopefully you can fit in a small helmet, while your at it pick up an extra large helmet to wear over the small, never can be to safe. That should do for the occasional cruise. Start there and when you really want to ride we'll work on that..

On a serious note try these sites

    iMotorcycle Store - Home

New Enough Motorcycle Apparel sells motorcycle jackets, pants and suits, boots, gloves, helmets, etc :: New Enough, LTD

I've ordered from every one of those and all has been well, for mesh stuff and warm-hot weather riding I like the joe rocket stuff, for leathers and such I like alpinestars.. probably want to stay away from the icon stuff if you ever want to zip them in to pants, as they do not have zippers for that. The only boots i've owned are the Sidi's so i'm bias, but I love them. I've heard good things about the oxtars and some of the A* boots though..

The only Tour Master jacket I have seen that I like is this one.
Tour Master Intake Air Series 2 Motorcycle Jacket :: New Enough, LTD

2 friends have that jacket and they love it, when you get into cool cool weather leather is best.. I know owning 2 jackets sounds crazy, but Buy a warm weather jacket now, save and by the time the cooler stuff get here, buy a leather..

I'm not impressed by the fieldsheer stuff I've seen.

Re: Gimme a hand picking summer gear

The only gear you need in the summer is a set of flip flops and a chrome non dot half harley peanut type helmet, oh and of course some sweet riding shorts.

I can post links if you need some ideas.

Actually looking at mesh jackets myself... can vouch for the Sidi's like Joe, have a pair of Doha's and a pair of B2s. Been looking at that Joe Rocket you have listed, but check and you may get the 4.0 jacket for a good deal (last years model) thats what im looking for right now

I find not wearing black works well as it does not attract heat as much. Just be careful of the glare to other riders with you.

I don't care for mesh gear from a protection standpoint. Textile gear with ample venting seems to offer enough comfort in the summer and provides much better crash protection.
