    Effectiveness of traffic lawyers?

A friend of mine (no, really) got a $300 speeding ticket and her record is already shit.
How effective are traffic lawyers? How expensive are they? Broke college kid story blah blah blah.

I've had good luck the 2 times that I got a lawyer. For speeding my lawyer charges $500

I would if it's something major, haven't had a ticket in a while so not sure how major a $300 ticket is these days.

Last time I hired a lawyer was for a pretty bad ticket, actually was 3 violations and a reckless driving in one incident. Back in 1999, it cost me $750 for the lawyer and 20 hours of my time for community service, never once did anything show on my driving record

She has one speeding ticket from a couple years ago. The rest are all inspection sticker citations - she got so many she had to do the driving class to keep her license last year lol. So a speeding one may be potentially bad
