Got a new headlight for the ATK, what is this little bulb?!?!

What is the little dippy light in the headlight housing??

Seen in the top right of the headlight



The headlight bulb itself should have high and low beam, so what is this extra light?

Yeah. So you can kill the full headlights and just run that little beam in the daytime.

The atk has high and low beam options only. Ill probably just tie it in with switched power.

Its there to allow fellow motorists to still identify the bike if your headlight should fail.

And yea, apparently its a European thing. I just changed the headlight bulb in my new Duc and found the same thing. A quick look in the manual cleared things up.

I thought it was also required in Europe for parking in some areas? My ST3 had a park position on the ignition that would put power to that light and let me pull the key.

but yes, it's a city light, not required in the USA, and it doesn't hookup to anything so you can wire it any way you like

I actually didn't end up hooking it up at all out of laziness. If I had to solder in the harness I would have, but it turned out my old headlight plugged right in, so I didn't mess with it.

Not sure Im a huge fan of the integrated blinkers, they are white not amber and not super bright. Also, I liked that I could tell when my blinkers were on with the stalk style.

I have the motocross side panels, I just leave them off as I think it looks better. The bike is actually in great shape! I did have it exhaust deep in mud 2 weeks ago and didn't clean it that well.

Hopefully meeting user Rambunctious next weekend for a ride!
