I have some closeout deals on Arai and Icon if you want to come by.
I also have a helmet cut away that shows what happens to the foam that you can't see.

I have a nice Shoei I could sell you. Got some minor scuffs in it. Little bit of black permanent marker and it'd be as good as new. Lemme know if you want it because it's just sitting on a shelf at the moment.....I certainly won't use it ever again.

Shoei SOLD to GixerJockey!
Up next, a "slightly irregular" HJC CL-12.
danny, this one has your name all over it!
Little rash on the back but it was only one crash and, as a bonus, the lid is only 11 years old. My loss is your gamble. $165

Back off Noel, it's already sold. Bergsie sent me some pics, it's clearly in excellent shape and of very high quality. Only has 10 or so crashes on it, and was purchased used in '04. I believe it's only missing 3 or 4 pieces due to crash damage, if you don't count the chips...

No no, this is an actual helmet I own, Dan.
Noel, good on you to show humility.

It shows.
Shoei is the only manufacturer I have come across that offers this service...

If it hasn't split in half it's fine. With an IQ of 3000 you can afford to loose 2700 and still be one of the mostest smarterer geniuses ever.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I recommend doing a little research. Look up how much skull surgery typically costs, if your disability plan is good and how well you can pay the bills while in ICU. If the answer is no to paying the bills or the total out of pocket cost is more then 400 bucks, get a new helmet.
The other equation that works well is take your IQ, divide by 2. Remember that number. Now add 12, subtract the number you remembered in the previous step. That will be your IQ after you bounce off the pavement and your helmet fails to protect your head. If that number is less then 70 and your not a fan of bibs then I would get a new helmet.
Okay, exaggerating slightly, but seriously, if there is any chance your helmet smacked the pavement instead of sliding, replace it. If it slid and the outer shell is worn through, replace it.
I can remember being broke and looking for a cheap helmet. It SUCKED, but it was something I was willling to do to ride.
I would have loved an Arai back in the day but I got the best helmet my money could buy. Which was an early HJC, Not for the graphics or the bling.
I just bought another HJC, Same model Spies wears, and I use AGV for the most part. Both cheaper that Arai or Shoei but comparable and better that Icon.
