I'm guilty of having a vanity plate, but I wouldn't get another one and when mine expires, it's gone. Main reason, the price has doubled in the past 2 years for one...and like others have said, they are easy to remember for the people you may not want to remember

Agreed. I've been known to add a little smear of grease near the "1's." Amazing how closely they look like a "7".

After 50+/- years, the NH DMV revoked my dad's plate for vulgarity: IM469

No shit. After all those years? FWIW - not only was I born in '69 but his first race car was #469. Nope, after all that time it's too vulgar. I mean, it kind of is. But he also had valid reasons for having it as well.

I recently got STONR for my Street Glide. There's a spot on the application where you now have to explain the meaning of the plate(s). All I put down is "last name".
