Thinking of upgrading my ZX11 to HID. Is there really any difference between the HID sets available on EBay and some of the other internet sites. I noticed a big price difference so I`m wondering is it worth paying the higher price. Also is there any difference in the installations of these "kits". Any help on this would be appreciated.

I've run 3 sets of ebay kits (dual kits). 1 kit out of the 3 , i have to turn on/off a couple times for one of the ballasts to fire, but other than that, they perfect. I've been running them for 3 seasons now. For $69.00, I consider them throw aways if they go bad. They all install the same.
Just be aware, for whatever it's worth, that HID kits are not street legal (the manufacturers' claims notwithstanding -- HID bulbs in stock reflectors designed for halogen bulbs yield non-street-legal lights because the halogen reflectors send too much light into oncoming traffic, causing glare).
Self-contained HID lights seem to be legal, but of course they're far more expensive.

I got mine from DDM Tuning and I'm extremely happy with them on my 08 zx6r. I got 55watt 6,000k HID's and wouldnt change it for the world. Total price was like 130ish. They get a lot better reviews then the ebay lights on kawiforums.

I would stay away from the manyadeal.com ones on ebay. I bought the car kit which came with two bulbs and ballasts. I experienced the same thing that marshdrummer described and they even shut off on me at times. The ballasts lasted no more than 3,000 miles each and to replace them would have cost me $20 for shipping from China. I have heard good things about the DDM kits and will be trying them next.
As for the whole HID bulb in a normal reflective housing debate, it really depends on the housing. They worked just fine on my F4i with some shims to adjust where the arc was but some of the older housing/lens combinations could be an issue.

+1 for DDM Tuning. They are for sure worth the few extra bucks for a quality product and life time warranty on at least the bulbs, maybe the whole kit.
I was able to adjust my zx6r so i could have a proper cutoff as required by law, using 2 adjustment screws, it's very easy.

Thanks everyone. I think I`m going with the 55w setup from DDM. Looks like I might be going with the thin ballast 6000K.
Did you end up getting them? If so how do you like it?? And if you got the DDM Thin Ballist, you'll love it. Easy to hide and install. Great deal.

I really hope you went with the 55 watt kit, it's 7.50 extra for an extra 50% light output.. The only thing i had to do was change the fuse to a 15 amp one from the 10 amp because at startup with low and high beam on it creates a 12 amp load...
I attached a pic of a 55watt 6k HID vs stock. I now have dual 55watt 6k's in and i love it.
