Looks like it could be a cool show.

I'll have to check if we have Fox Reality Channel as well. Never heard of it.

Long way Round with McGregor and Boorman.
Race to Dakar was Boorman only.

I own DVD copies of Long way Round. Great piece of film, inspires you to go on a trip of your own.

You will enjoy the dvd, especially the segments in Mongolia.
Great bike action, comments and bike to bike chatter on headsets.

One day it will be my turn but I think I'll just cross the country first.

    Re: The Long Way Down

Long Way Down was good, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Long Way Round. The scale of the adventure didn't seem quite as harrowing as LWR. Than and the scenery, though varied, was always pretty similar. Desert/lush/desert/lush.

    Worth a watch though.

    Re: The Long Way Down

Yeah, I downloaded and watched "Long Way Down" last fall. It was good, but definitely not as good as "Long Way Round." And they made a few really stupid decisions (the first of which was probably taking BMW R1200GS Adventures on that trip... they would have had a much easier time on smaller bikes).

For the Comcast peoples, Fox Reality Channel appears to be digital only and channel 232.

Unfortunately, I have ghetto cable and non-digital. I'll have to see if I can leech it somewhere.

    Re: The Long Way Down

They're also airing Long Way Round as well and like others I preferred this one.

I read an interview with the Claudio, the cameraman that road with them. He says the footage makes it seem like they're with the support crew a lot more than what it was really like. I can believe that statement, knowing how hard it is to stop and still make progress on the aggressive mileage schedule.

It seems like LWD had a ton more sponsorship, and needless fluff. I hate corporations!!!!
