I just sold my 01 R1 (which I loved!) and bought an 07 S4R. I had a scotts on the R1 but it doesn't look like Scotts makes a mount for the Monster (nor is there room to mount it). The Monster is 1.8" longer than the R1 so it's very stable to begin with but I'm thinking of getting a damper anyway. So far I've looked at the Arrow and Bitubo (both top mount) and I think I like the finish of the Bitubo better. I haven't used a piston type damper since I put the frame mount style Toby on my 97 YZF1000 so I'd be interested in your opinion. Thanks!
I've owned a Monster S4R since I bought it new in 04 and I've never had a damper installed, nor have I ever felt the need for one. I think they look quite ugly on the Monsters anyways.
Try Matris. I have one for my 06 SPD3. It mounts to a fork tube and under the frame. Its not a side mount. I can take some pics if you'd like. You can find them on kneedragers.com or try carpimoto.com. They are the best website I've found for those hard to find Euro parts.
