don't get me started on the Adventure riders forum...... bunch of morons if you ask me, sure, there are some real adventure riders there, but 99% wannabes that give out advice with no experience
Thats right you mentioned the SWMS folks above, sorry.
The last part is why I was wondering where you had sourced some of your riders through. there doesen't seem to be alot of IB types on there for the most part, and IB questions tend to get downplayed, so I was going to ask your secret but I guess it's posting on the ibr forum ;)
Good luck with your attempt!

Once I leave my house about 5pm tomorrow, I prolly wont see a computer till wednesday at the earliest
the guys from SWMOSportbikes that are meeting me will prolly pose something up on their forum
I might take a pic of my departure from Newington, but once I get my time stamped gas slip in newington to when I get my final slip in Joplin, the only thing I am stopping for is refueling, schedule it too tight to think about pics along the way.
on the way back, I plan looping northwest a couple miles into Kansas, then south thru oklahoma to Arkansas, then into Texas and Louisiana before heading east thru Mississippi, Alabama then back home to NH
I plan on adding 10 new states to my list of states I have ridden in, upping my total to 30

By the way Randyo made it with a little time to spare. Riley was kind enough to co-witness and made the ride from Springfield to Joplin to intercept Randy on the way. Worked out perfectly. http://www.swmosportbikes.com/forum/...=randyo&page=3
Re: IBA BunBurnerGold attempt
I'm back
as beet already posted my BBG attempt was successfull,
almost everything went per plan, I began the ride with 1.5 hours to spare with my projected arrival time in Joplin.
by the time I made it to my first gas stop at the Lee Service Area on the Mass Pike, I gained another half hour
The severe thunderstorms that I was heading into were brakeing up, I hit some light rain shortly after my first gas stop, roads were wet all the way to Syracuse and beyond.
the wet roads ate into my buffer, whe I got to my 3rd gas stop in North East, PA I only had a half hour to spare, after that, dry roads, I made up lost time, but the rain took its toll, at my Warners NY gas stop, my headset came out of my helmet, I made a couple unschedules stops along the NY thruway trying to correct the problem, I lost function of my microphone, made a lottle problematic for coordinating with the Springfield Mo riders that were meeting me,
turned out the entrance ramp where they were meeting me was closed, they had to backtrack then catch up with me, at that point I had a hour an a half to spare, I lowered my pace a bit and my witness group caught up with me about 15 miles outside of Joplin
1534 miles in 23 hours 5 minutes
more report later
I saw a dead armadillo in the road yesterday
