Indeeeeeed. Definitely cool. Every time I ride at night I wonder who is gonna be the first and when this would hit the market.

The animation is greatly embellished, but still...

Actually, what I'm way more interested in is the fact that the stock headlight's an HID. About friggin time.

the previous K1200GT and the current K1300GT already offer HID lighting as an option.

Very cool, but I also couldn't help but laugh at how horrible that animation was. The angle of the light and total illumination wasn't even close to matching the lean angle.

The main reason I'm not a fan of night riding is because of the greatly increased likelihood of some furry forest varmint jumping out in front of me. Unfortunately, no headlight, adaptive or not, is going to help with that.

, although this system may help pick up the varmints, cool tech:

The system would hinge on two cameras, mounted on the front of each rear-view mirror. These will detect heat--from animals or people, for example, but not for objects as cool as their backgrounds. Working as a pair--just like your eyes--the cameras would allow depth perception, so that the distance of objects could be readily calculated. And that could be massively helpful, since the cameras have a range of 300 feet--much further than the range of even high-beam headlights.

yeah, lot of exaggeration there for sure... but gets the point across.
