I was going to buy one last year. They could not do highway speeds really. Great bikes and I would have loved to own one but where I live in NY you need to be able to do at least 60mph for long periods of time. The meteor I rode could only do 63 tops and that motor was screaming. It wouldn't last long.
I do like that scram though in blue grey yellow.

$3995 OTD for the RE 411 Scram. These guys in N Pownal and Albany are no doubt easy to deal with.
PS -- looked at the Scam reviews -- not so good -- I think RE are clearing out inventory to make way for the new 450 models.

And don't believe everything you think.
The Albany guys are easy for sure. That's who I was gonna buy from last year. Ive been looking at reviews to refresh my memory and it seems the scram isn't right for what I'm looking to do. I wish it was but it's just gonna be a struggle to get it anywhere long distance.
Looks like seacoast is coming through. Picking a klr 650s Tuesday. I'm hoping the lower seat height is a blessing and not a curse
Good news,enjoy it
Lower might be good. IIRC, I went with 1" lowering links on my KLR.

Well f u to seacoast power sports. Drive all the way up there only to have them not only not honor the otd quote I got from them, totally disregard the sales price on there own website that's right in front of them but to not give me back my deposit is just theft. How is it my fault you are giving me different prices at every point of the game and it's certainly not my fault you prefilled the MCO with all my info before I even set foot in the dealership. The guy in charge was just a shithead. Poor sales lady was almost in tears.
Well that totally sucks.
If the KLR still appeals, Motorsports International in Auburn MA has a 2022 with low miles listed at $4999. They might try for doc fees, though.
Or maybe back to Albany for a new RE 650 at $4995 OTD, three-year warranty.
As to rotten dealer experience, I had something a little bit similar happen at Nault's Windham a few years back. The salesman was great, but when the "sales manager" looked over my trade in, he didn't even look at me or say hello, basically called me a liar about the condition of the bike. The salesman was red-faced and embarrassed. Did get my $50 deposit back, though.

I just don't have the mental fortitude to deal with anymore scummy kawi dealers right now. It's such a simple thing to gand over money for something but they just keep screwing me.
An update is they are still texting me and calling me hours later but they have changed the narrative and now they are saying it's my fault the deal didn't work and I should just have paid the extra couple hundred they were charging me. They still aren't at the quote nor will they ever give me back all of my deposit unless I buy the bike. On the bright side they can't sell that klr because they filled out the MCO in my name before I even came in so they have to get a new one so they are huffy about that.
Is the quote, including all fees and charges for a full out the door number, in writing? Any dealer nonsense I've ever dealt with is gone by the time you have that in hand.
And deposits should always be written via check, with "fully refundable deposit" written on the memo line. If they sign it to cash it, it's binding.
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure Exclusive
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
The quote is in writing. Direct from the saleslady too so no messy middleman to blame mistakes on. The big issue was online the bike shows for $4699 and that's what the quote uses as a base but in store the bike is listed at $4999 so it magnifies all the other charges a bit since they are based on percentage I think. In the end it wasn't really all that much money but I certainly wasn't going to pay it. They should have just honored the quote like any respectable dealership would have which is ultimately why I left. They were never gonna be respectable if they weren't from the start.
I would have preferred to write a check but they called me and said they wanted the deposit on a card. It was Christmas eve so they weren't physically open so I couldn't give them a check anyway. There would have been a cancelled check fee with that anyway. I'm gonna have to file a dispute with my cc. I'm sure I will get it back but it's just a hassle.

Charge backs are easy on their side, stick the state AG on them first if you want to make them actually feel a little heat.
I'm writing up a letter to Kawasaki HQ about this mess. AG is a good call.
I have always heard good things about them, thats why i went there. They werent the cheapest but i thought the extra money would have been well spent. I should have checked the online reviews though instead of listening to word of mouth. They have so many complaints about not refunding deposits, overcharging when buying, outright lies by the salespeople. Basically exactly what happened to me has been echoed by many people before. Live and learn.
You're not lying. $4699 right on the website.

Unfun.
I bought parts from them not long ago. My daughter and I kicked some tires since we were there. Sales types struck me as D-class knuckle draggers. I had to ask one to watch his language in front of my 5 year old. We GTFO of there pretty quick.
I kept thinking you were talking about Seacoast Sport Cycle (Derry). Who I have a fairly high opinion of. And also who I didn't think sold any of the asian brands.
You know, the more i think of it the more i think the positive word of mouth reviews i got were from sport cycle and not powersports. Everyone just says seacoast is great, seacoast is awesome but the two might be mixed up. They probably equally hurt and help each others business by having similar names.
And yes, thats the price and bike i wanted. Clear as day its $4699. Thats what the quote they gave me was based on. All the paperwork had it written up as $4999 though. Again, not much money but i will be damned if i was gonna play that game. Sad thing is i still would have bought it if they quoted me the actually correct price in the first place, not the made up bait and switch one.
same bike in inventory at sister dealership in Rochester

My experience with Rochester Motorsports was awesome, went in, asked for an OTD number on a bike they didn't even have in stock, got a solid number, went back a bit later to put down a deposit and lock in, different salesmen and again no hassle, when the bike came in it was an easy transaction and no issues with the numbers.
This makes me feel like a large amount of us NESR inmates should pester the “other” seacoast for their KLRs at the a as-advertised online price and see how their sales team handles the situation.
I'd rather just leave bad reviews. Seems the better way to alert people of this dealership.
Ps, I'm updating the thread to show it was seacoast powesports and not seacoast sport cycle. Big difference apparently lol

They for sure still have the one I left there lol. It would be hilarious if you told him. They seemed genuinely scared of bad reviews. The owner must come down hard on them for it.
