I like these. Threw a leg over at IMS in New York 2 years ago and really liked the fit, love the specs on the 100 ci Indian motor. I have trouble figuring where it would fit in my garage, but that’s my personal geography problem.

My neighbor has a base one and loves it if it means anything. Looking at his and the upgraded version i would want something in between which they dont make or else i would have bought one. He has a ton of miles on his and nothings been needed on it outside of typical stuff and he is out ridding today so you know its not babied.

I test rode one. I found it to be very twitch and not very confidence inspiring. The seating position was nice though. I think there are better choices in a naked upright bike.

Twitchy throttle, tip in, overall stability?

That actually kind of makes me intrigued. I rode the Scout when it first came out and liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I walked away thinking that with some mid controls and handlebars I'd like it a lot, which is what's been leading me towards an FTR.

If I was in the market for that style bike I would probably lean triumph scrambler.

    Re: Looking for an FTR

I have heard these bikes have pretty poor fuel mapping in stock trim, EDR Performance has done a few videos on tuning them. I think that’s not an uncommon issue with newer bikes and the need to hit emissions guidelines. The good news is it sounds like they really shine when properly mapped.

    Re: Looking for an FTR

I hear the 2021 update resolved the throttle issues. The choice to go to 17" wheels also changed the stability issue in both front end geometry and using current tire tech rather than their one off 19" semi knob. This will cause the gen1 bikes to drop in price.

Personally I would rather find a Harley XR1200R in decent shape. The Buell XB12R motor was surprisingly fun with super low maintenance tucked into that XR style has me wish I could find one not molested. I see them selling for $8k and holding there with some yahoos asking for the moon on the 2011's. It's a low tech bike with great parts support.

I'm not a nekkid bike kinda guy, but I've seen the Carbon model up close & gave 'er the eye over. Bad-ass looking bike that sounded incredible with the Akro's it had. Dude riding it was about my size and was looking for ways to make it a bit more comfy on longer rides. Other than that, he said he loved the thing. Went from an R1 to that and said he doesn't regret it for a minute.

Again, not my thing. But I'm curious to see what Harley is unveiling today for the new 1250 Revolution engine.

Following this too. Saw a gorgeous one at Wagner last week. They definitely have the look I enjoy. HD doesn’t look to have anything similar in their line up, and I can’t find an older xr1200.

Anyone interested in the FTR should also check out the new Triumph Trident.

Not sure how the numbers add up. 94 ft. lbs., 120+ HP, and around 500 pounds. And that Revolution 1250 motor...

I also suspect the once tabled Bronx will reappear as a 2021 model sporting the new motor too.

Doesn't really look much different than the new Sportster S.

I'd like to see that motor revive the Bronx, although that name is dumb as hell. I think that motor would do well in a more sport oriented machine, and I'm curious if they'll continue working around it.

I think its mid controls vs forward and it loses the bulky wheels of the S. But yes basically the same. I'm not a feet forward rider and those beefy wheels are not my style as well.

I see the subtle differences now. I'm not a fan of the "beefy" wheels on the S either...
