03 Suzuki SV650
You might ask around if there are any legal passing zones above the incident. Some guys know the road and can tell you.
Back in the day physical injury was considered penalty enough. A 1 vehicle incident without witnesses should not get a ticket![]()
Your a nice guy... Get the money check with the insurance what/if they will charge you next year for another bike and act accordingly.
I think something like an sv650 is not considered a crazy bike etc.
Keep telling the Amherst Co_eds you were injured stopping a whale hunt![]()

wow. Didn't see this post till today. Glad to see you're alive after looking at the pics of the bike. Best wishes to you and everything to come!

Breaking your collarbone sucks! I was in an accident back in August and I messed up my collarbone too. This was the first week back at the gym and let me tell ya...it sucks trying to lift. Definitely weaker and it feels like my left side is going to give way. Good luck on the healing process...hopefully you were in decent shape before the crash so that you heal a little faster.
I broke my collarbone in a crash on May 1, I just got word from the docs that it is healed about a week ago. Be very careful with it. I went back to work after about 4 weeks cause it feot OK, but I was using my arms so much that it never healed. Also tell your Doc you want a bone stim machine. This was the only thing that made mine heal. Next step was surgery and a plate. Good luck, and take it easy!

Yeah - we'll see about a bike for next season. I'll probably step down to a 600. I'll certainly miss the rumble of my RC.
I got a job offer, so I'll start full time at the company I'm at now come December when I graduate. I'm doing sofware engineering stuff for Lexalytics, Inc. So, I'll still be in the area.
I've always dreamed about a Ducati, and I hope real money doesn't lure me towards a 996 or 749. I hope to save money by buying a cheap bike next season and maybe stepping up to the new 1098 in a few years when I'm ready.
I'm quite scared to get back on again.
First thing I need to do before even thinking about riding again is to get all new gear. My leathers actually faired pretty well, but the paramedics cut 'em off me. Heh.

Posts like this scare me. I feel like mine's fused alread - that part of my body doesn't hurt much at all anymore. I can touch the bump and trace the section that was broken, and it feels solid and attached. I'm sure it's not fully strong yet, but at least it feels tacked on.Originally posted by snaggle

Then again, I'm not a doctor. I go in for more x-rays in a week. My doctor seemed to think that mine would heal very quickly.

For me it felt great after about 2 weeks. I would go to the doc and would have full range of motion with no pain, but the xrays still showed the bone in three ppieces. In my case the bones were not touching, so I had to fill in about 1/4" with new bone. Which didn't happen until I got the bone stim. I basically went 3.5 months with no change then they gave me the bone stim and 9 weeks later I was healed. My ER doc in canada told me 2 weeks it would be OK, my primary care MD sadi 4-6, the ortho guy sadi 10-12, ended up at 20 weeks. So got about 40 miles of riding this season.....

heal up quick bro!![]()
If you were on the section of 116 between Conway and Deerfield, I'm fairly certain there are no passing zones in there. Only spot that comes to mind is the short straight by the elementary school, but I still think thats double yeller. Ken C could tell you for sure.
Insult to injury.Oh well, hope everything heals up well regardless, and at least you are making out ok on the bike. Should probably take the money and save it away for the increase in your insurance premiums from the ticket.

I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
wtf cops suck, if they werent there it wont stand in court! fight the ticket and the accedent surcharge. you will most likely know alittle more by the court date...and if not its your word against theres...if they show up at the secound appeal![]()

$100 used leathers saved me from having to endure skin grafts, surgery, and so much pain.

Yeah. We'll see what I get next season... I worry about what it's going to cost to insure me now. D'oh.Originally posted by SmokennFasTT
man, thats such an ugly bike.. its soo hideouswho would want to own such a thing?!
I'd love to get a 600rr, or maybe go back to RCs of the SP2 flavor.

if u get a 600rr ull miss the V-Twin rumblee and torque... maybe?
Maybe I'll get the new 1098 Duc... it'd be a dumb financial descision though, so probably not. It's what I want badly, so I may just get a "cheap" bike to take me through next season - something like an F4i. Then I could get the 1098 come Spring '08.
Some other realistic options:
SV1000S or SV650S
One of the 600s (most likely 600rr)
749, 748, or 996
SP2

The only legal passing zone is west of Conway, just before you get to Conway center from Ashfield. It's the only legal place in about a 12 mile stretch from Deerfiled to Ashfield..
Don't rule out the 900ss (91-98) or even 1000ds
Or you could get a Hawk GT (Honda and Vtwin) and Race that when you get your next bike.
