Have you checked your little tool kit that comes with the bike? Or your owners manual even?
I've never had a Suzuki so not sure if they do this or not, but Yamaha gives you a small plate with the key number on it and suggests you write the key number down in your owners manual. I've also found the key code plates mixxed in with the tools in the little tool bag that comes with the bike. Just a thought

FWIW when I get a bike I usually have an extra key made and tape it with black duct tape up inside the frame someplace. Especially if you camp with your bike, this can be a lifesaver. It doesn't have to be convenient to get at: in fact it shouldn't be.
Note to self: find out where Garandman parks those 3 bikes and take one (the key is under the black tape):)
Seriously, I've got a key hidden on mine as well. I'm admittedly a bit OCD about keys though.
