Haha...I still owe @ 5k.

take the fairings off, drop $240 on a pair of aztec8's, and enjoy :P
Right side fairing:
~$150 (Is it lower upper or both?)
Slider:
$10
Fuel cell (tank):
~$100 Used but good (unless you really want to pay 710 for a new one haha)
Frame:
Sandpaper and paint if it is just scuffed/scratched. May need a $2 thing of filler.
Tail fairing:
~$45
Clip on:
$25
Brake Lever:
$15
Exhaust:
Cheapo for $150, good one for about $300
Rear Signals:
$10
Add a paint job if you can't get the tank or fairing in the right color. Just a tank painting shouldn't be too bad.
Total:
about $500 - $650
Difference on insurance can easily be more then this yearly.
Fairing may be plastic weldable if it is cracked but not rashed too badly and that could save some money.
Not trying to tell you what to do  Just trying to give you some ideas. :drink:
:plusone:
if ur deductible is 500$ then that sounds like a good deal ya know?
rattle can it...who cares
Those are some good numbers for parts but I have already done a similar repair to the other side of the bike and it was more @ 1000 without a tank and getting awesome deals on parts. I'm estimating the damage more around $1500 - $2k.
I actually looked those up real quick to make sure they jived with the ballpark figures from previous things I've done. Like I mentioned I do bikes and cars a lot and it really depends on if you need it right now or you don't mind keep your eyes open during the winter. The only real variable prices in there are the tank and the fairing and even then that is the average. The rest of the stuff doesn't tend to vary too much. It is hard to tell without seeing though I suppose.
Either way I hope it works out well for you :) You came away without too much bruising I hope.
Just get it rideable and fix the cosmetics as you can afford it.
dude, fix just what you need to and ride that thing... scratches, zipties and all. don't be a puss.
Thanks for the insight, Captain Obvious!

Highsided off my k8 750 all plastics scratched or broken , exhaust fucked up, mirrors broke, and some other shit broken aswell. Insurance company notified the next day, insurance went up 20 bucks a month and I had a new newer bike in 20 days.
Did the cops get in on this?
Glad yer ok, too..:plusone:
just the kinda info I was wondering.
Also, concerning injuries...only a little rash on my lower right back and upper ass haha. My Dainese Zentex Tessuto with G2 air back protector worked like a dream. Tore through the fabric on the shoulder and arm but no other damage. Didn't even ding the Suomy
so...insurance's first offer is for $4100 less the $500 deductible. So they're willing to offer $3600...NO FRIGGING WAY!
well, NET -$1400 since you're still paying it off right? If you owe $5K you'll need to pay off the difference between that and your payout.
dont do it
slowly rebuild it dude....winter is almost here you'll be fine
dont pay outa your ass now AND for the next few years
balls already rolling...time to fight with the appraiser. maybe small claims?
why are you fighting with the appraiser? your actually putting a claim in??
I dont think small claims will help you at all. Bring it to a shop and see if they can appraise it for you. They will prob charge you like 75$ for it though or something like that.
Then provide that to your insurance company and be like match that.
yeah...claim has already been made. Have to get them to give me fair market value plus the extras I have on the bike.
