Anyone else hear about this? I just opened my mail and had 3 large checks totaling almost $2k care of Martha Coakley. I guess Plymouth Rock had been overcharging me for years and there are like 12 other insurance companies in MA that were raping motorcycle riders. Just a heads up. You might have some money coming your way.

Got a check from Hanover over the weekend for the same thing. Nice little surprise.

Interesting.. I started out with Arbella.. I can't remember when, but I was using an independent agent and he switched me over to commerce at some point in this time period to get a better rate.
I probably don't have the paper work required to prove anything but I wouldn't mind getting something back...
My bike insurance never dropped really at all that entire period, even though I was getting older, my record was getting better, and the bikes were depreciating.
edit: Woot! I was only overcharged one year, from March 2003 - March 2004, but that is a $200 refund. I paid about $1000 that year for my policy, which means they were really overcharging!

I would make sure to check the website carefully and if you're due a refund call the insurance company in question.
When I called the independent agent he was *instantly* able to figure out that I had moved back to Massachusetts in 2009 and he pulled up my current address.
But Arbella sent me a check to the address I lived at in 2003.. I've moved 4 times since then. If I had not seen this thread I'm sure that check would not have found it's way to me, and then after 60/90 whatever days it would have cancelled out.
However Arbella was cool when I called and they're going to reissue the check to my current address.
My guess is a large # of these checks are never going to get cashed.
