Here's the State Police Press Release:

Subject: State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 95 North in Danvers Update

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

    August 8, 2009

State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 95 North in Danvers Update

Today, Saturday August 08, 2009 at approximately 11:02 a.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Danvers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 95 North, north of Maple Street in Danvers that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by a 21 year-old Lucas Haus from North Reading, who was traveling on Route 95 North in Danvers, when he lost control of his motorcycle traveling off the right side of the roadway striking several trees and then the motorcycle caught on fire. The operator was transported to Beverly Hospital with serious injuries where he was pronounced deceased.

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Danvers Fire, Danvers EMS, Danvers Police, and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the crash investigation and vehicle removal some of the lanes on Route 95 northbound were closed for approximately 1 hour.

No further information is available at this time.

alcohol is bad(I was Under the influence while writing this post, LONG after being on my bike. NO, ABSOLUTELY no alcohol was involved in the memorial ride.), all I can picture is seeing him getting cpr and having to tell a friend who the lifeless body was. The one that was driving safely died. Does anyone picture their mothers face, as she pours tears over her childs lifeless body? I saw that today and never want to see it again, and deffinitly positivly absolutly never want to put my mother through the pain of getting "the phone call" or " a knock at the door from a policeman". I don't know what to do. Ride or don't ride.

We all need to keep riding. Be aware of our surroundings and respect others. Many sad things happen. We all have our time on this world. If my day and my number just so happen to come up while I am riding I will have met my maker with peace. Peace knowing that I could be free to do what I have loved for years.

I am sorry that you had to see all of that. That is the very sad side of life, But you know those friends would want you to be happy. Live for them and they will live on. To all that are affected by this I feel for you and will focus my positive energy in your directions.
