OK... I've decided that I could use a good pair of overpants.
Who's got some suggestions and reviews?

I just got a pair of First Gear HT overpants, waterproof, removable liner, I am very satisfied even though they do seem a bit like snow pants.
I have rain tested them too, no leaks
I paid $135, but that was because my dealer sold them to me for the same price as the the JR ballistic pants that I returned (2 pairs) cause of sucky JR stitching, I think they list @ $199

I just picked up a pair of Hein Gericke cargo pants. I give 'em a solid 3 thumbs up!
they're very well built and designed and the CE armor is nice. Venting seems pretty good but it hasn't been warm enough here to really know. They only seem to come in black though, a lighter grey would be nice for super sunny days.

i got the same first gear pants. i like them alot. rain tested several times last sunday and stayed dry. my only complaint is that the legs ride up uncovering my boot as i ride. i working on a solution for that. def worth the moneyOriginally posted by RandyO

I've got the first gear pants too. Great pants, they hold up well and feel secure, plus they have nice velcro pockets so your wallet etc doesn't go flying off during the ride.
The negative is that since they are overpants, they are pretty bulky. Randy's right, they do feel like snowpants - they can be a little restrictive. It's a little more work moving around in the saddle for a turn, bump in the road etc.
Overall I'd still definetley recommend them.
I have a set of Motoport Ultra II Kevlar, high quality, durable, incredible armoring, custom made to your exact measurements, be prepared to wait a few weeks for them, not so cheap. They are quite breathable considering they are an overpant, much more than your typical PU coated pant. I had JR ballistics, they were like wearing trashbags over my legs...because they were as breathable as trash bags!
Can get the Ultra II in cordura if you want to save money. I got super nice, personable service from Wayne & Christy. www.motoport.com Their website is a disaster, I'd call them up and talk about your needs if you're interested.

Cool... well people have thrown up the pants that I've found doing searches too.
I think it's between the HT Air or the Motoport.
People seem to thing the HTs are kinda bulky and like snowpants.
How about the Motoports? are they bulky?

Well, they aren't exactly a set of spandex shorts, but I wouldn't call them ski pants either. Any tighter and they'd be hard to fit jeans in there, any looser and they'd start being bulky. I like themOriginally posted by LuvDog

Don't know how much you want to spend, but I have the Aerostich overpants, and I like them quite a bit. Not terribly bulky, and completely waterproof.

the first gear stuff is ok for the money, but doesn't compare to stitch for build quality and protectionOriginally posted by nichols

I have the normal Dariens. They're not any bulkier than other overpants I've seen. I personally think they're a little slimmer than something like FirstGear pants. I don't have any problem walking around in them if I were to stop for dinner or something similar.
