I'm about to put in an order for oil products via motul and I'm looking at some feedback. I don't need you guys to tell me if motul sucks or is awesome that's the company I'm going with. The product selection is what interests me.
For the ktm 525 exc (motard) I think 300V 100% full synthetic off-road factory 15W60? Other option is 5W40
For the gsxr 1000 (street build bike) and the SV (race bike stock motor) I think 7100 100% syn. 10W40 or 10W50?
Also brake fluid everyone I know uses 5.1 DOT and I was about to order that but then I saw some RBF 600 and 660 racing DOT 4. Any feedback on what that is or should I stay away!?
All my bikes have stock masters with either stock or SS lines.
Thanks in advance guys
I use the 5100 synthetic blend 10w40 in the Hawk (and all my other bikes). The Hawk clutch is really pickyand I change my oil so frequently in all my bikes I don't see the benefit of going full synthetic.
For brake fluid I use the RBF 600.

I use 5w40 300V in all my bikes.
What about the ktm?
15w60 seems awfully thick for a motard. It calls for 10w/50. Based on the book, I'd steer you towards 7100 4T 10W50. If you're concerned about oil breakdown, change it more frequently.
ktm says use 5.1, thats what you have to use in that. dot 5 is not compatible and while 5.1 is similar to dot 4, IMHO, if it was that close then it wouldve been called 4.1
ktm also says to use motorex oil like the Crosspower 4T (5w40), or KTM racing 4T (20w60). you can run whatever you want though. again, IMHO, KTM recommends a brand that THEY dont make (suzuki says use suzuki oil etc...) so im inclined to believe that its a good idea to use it.
i run synthetic or syn blend in the SV. usually whatever i can get my hands on. the GSXR and the SV will run on anything
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
