    NESR Injured Riders Fund

    I have an idea...

    Where did everyone go?

I know we have done this kinda stuff unofficially before with the Drunkathons and Spence's bike and such...

I thought it might be a good idea to start an account to contribute to so that if "one of our own" gets hurt we can buy them some parts, or a get well card and some flowers or a Case of beer or a fifth of Tequila...

    Whatever best suits the individual.

What do you guys think? Would you be game? Would a Paypal account be OK? Who do we trust to have access to it and distribute the funds to the injured parties?

    Re: NESR Injured Riders Fund

I think it's a good idea. I'd trust you Doc, or Degsy and Stoneman...

The only problem I see with that (from what I have seen on other forums) is people questioning who "deserve" the help when a crash occurs. Meaning, what if the guy/gal was riding like a maniac and caused his own crash, etc. you see what I mean. That's why this hasen't worked on some other forums, and when someone gets hurt and a donation thread is started, people can give to that person if they choose to.

Either way, I don't think it can hurt.

    Re: NESR Injured Riders Fund

    I am not talking millions.

This would just be for like $10-$25 from ALL of us. For a card and some minor items...

I see your point MissT and that is why the low amount. If we wanted to do a bigger collection we could have a Drunkathon or a Private thread to donate to a specific rider...

I think Miss Twisties has a good point...

I would be more inclined to contribute to a specific rider after the fact than to a difficult to manage slush fund.

The fund for injured Racers is different...in my mind.

As nice as something like that would be & as pure as your intentions are, there's WAY too much red tape involved in something like that. It's much better to have funds for individual riders on an as-needed basis.
