Can't wait to see how those pieces look on the bike![]()
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
great choice on the finish Wayne. I have to admit that I thought you were crazy for wanting to chrome anything on your bike, but the parts look great. Good luck keeping them clean looking though.
I'm interested to see the water pump housing up close.
Thanks peeps,
All of these parts are after market aluminum parts and all of them had a different luster. If all of them had the same luster/color/shine I wooda left them alone. I think this will look nice and pull every thing togeather.
Tim, these parts are really chromed. not the Chromex finish that HP coatings has to offer. I don't think it will be to bad to keep clean. The water pump housing looks sweet as does everything else. I'm very happy the way they came out.

thats what I'm saying...A996S along with a lot of others is under the impression that chrome is hard to keep clean...something like..a lot of polishingOriginally posted by FireNutzRR

and it's like the easiest....now polished aluminim is a different story...
excuse my ignorance. I don't own any chrome except for my headlight ring. I do know that chrome shows finger prints quite well, so don't touch your new parts with bare hands Wayne. The parts may be easy to clean, but you just gave yourself more surfaces to keep clean looking.Originally posted by bigred875

All this time I thought you were going to do your wheels.
When did you get those belt covers? (Rizoma?)
I can't wait to see them on the bike.
I got some carbon bling on the way to go with the new exhaust. Stay tuned!!

Too many toys, not enough time.
They are made by Rizoma. I got em a couple months ago. Are you gonna coat the new exhaust? I think your gonna have the same discoloration issue with the new system too.

Looking back at the pictures before the coating of the old system, I kinda like the color. Now that the manifolds and the headers are the same piece, they should discolor the same.
Here is a sneek peek at the carbon bling on the way.............

If you're putting on new chrome pipes, make sure you coat the inside of the header pipe with vaselineWhat happens is the vaseline burns off inside the pipe and coats the pipe so that it doesn't "blue" or turn color from the heat

I was looking at that tail piece as well, but I decided against buying it because it would have to be ordered, and would probably take forever to ship out. If my dealer gets one in stock, then I will think about getting one. Ducati Performance parts almost always take forever to ship out.Originally posted by Sideshow

Chris,
I really didn't like the look of mine after 10k miles. But I have been caught in the rain more than once.
