dont shoot the messenger here. i just know that alot of soldiers dont get the blanket emails from their states safety offices. there is alot of missing skin out there that could have been saved with a few pieces of well placed gear. im not a gear nazi but i believe it works. thats my 2 cents.
"From the VT Safety and Occupational Health Manager,
A motorcycle has a much smaller presence than a car or truck and cannot be seen as readily by other drivers. Whether you are the operator of a motorcycle or the driver of a car, van, or truck, please take the time to make sure you are clear to make your next move in traffic.
PPE is mandatory at all times when operating a motorcycle, not just when coming to or from work. If you head out to get lunch, you still need to wear the required equipment (DOT-approved helmet, safety glasses or goggles, over-the-ankle footwear, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, motorcycle gloves or mitts and a brightly colored garment for daytime and reflective garment for night driving). The use of PPE does save lives.
Don't become a statistic."
