Finally got around to installing the factory 07 crimson red lower fairings I got for xmas today.![]()
Took about 4 hours total (gotta love translated directions like "Respect the 29mm distance" and "Mount lower bracket left rear bottom on bike"). Pardon the awful white-balance (taken under fluorescent garage lights with the garage door open, flooding the room with a weird temperature light) and the horrendously messy garage.
I used a flash on a couple pics, which unfortunately highlights the massive handprint smudges and the fact that the original upper fairings/other plastics have water-spots cuz I last rode in the rain (why the color match looks the slightest bit off). I didn't get around to buffing it, and I had to be careful where I put my hands since I didn't want to drop it and grind the brand new plastic on the abrasive concrete floor. The new bits are also completely unwaxed, so I had to hold off on taking her for a spin despite it being 65*F out, because it took so long and so I didn't get a chance to throw some wax on the virgin plastics in order to protect the virgin paint from the roads being super grimy with sand and salt.
With any luck, the rain that's forecast for tomorrow will be hard enough to wash most of the remaining road crap away and give me a chance to wax her before heading out on Thursday (ought to be a balmy 47*F and sunny).
The crappy thing is that I had to take my frame sliders off, cuz I'd have to cut the fairings otherwise, but hopefully I'll get new ones that are compatible with the pre-cut holes ASAP -- I don't wanna be riding around and mangle her when it could've been avoided for $70 with properly-fitting frame sliders...
Totally changes the look of the bike, at least I think so.
Back when I got her:

Why would you buy a naked bike, then put fairings on?????
looks good!

it's half-faired from the factory (although Suzuki changed it so the 08+ are fully faired or naked). while i like the added wind-flow without fairings on hot, summer days, i'm of the opinion that it should either be 100% naked (mmm cafe-racers), or fully faired. i think the SV650 engine is good-looking enough to be on display, but having an upper fairing without the lower fairings seems to make the bike to look a little unfinished....
or recently crashed, lol.

That looks great Aaron, are you in Reading? if so you better be calling me for a ride tomorrow....

haha, yep, i am until probably the 20th or so. how's the 1125 doing?
and i think it's supposed to rain tomorrow, but if you're up for it thursday (supposed to be a little chilly but nothing unmanageable), i'm game. just need to renew my registration, and throw a coat of wax on the new panties to keep all that nasty salt/sand at bay

Because like it was pointed out either 100% either way. I think it looks funny with an upper fairing tail fairing and no lower.
My first bike was a monster
My current ride is a Fizza. I had to put the lowers on because it looked dumb half faired. Although I'm currently contemplating going street fighter
O and you don't need to quote all the picture
Spicy- Looks good mang![]()

there aren't any scratches on it, at least none that i know of. my guess is it's just the virgin paint reflecting the tools or concrete surface on the garage floor.... at least i hope
and thanks, tim. you need to come by and see her, though hopefully after i've washed and waxed her... looks so different. we must ride on thursday though, and you suck for not coming to big city for pool tonight. we had 3 people
on a side note -- flying dog in heat wheat is a delicious beer.

Nice Work - looks good.
Looks good.
Translated directions are greatWe have had a few at the shop. Putting a slipper clutch in and it says "Install spring correctly" and then we had a nice carbon exhaust system that was "gifted of a great lightness" among other things.
looks great
looks good...congrats
ehhhh....i like em half faired. its what makes NOT look like all the others
