just realized that the supercharged cobalts were 2.0Ls. doesnt mean you cant bump up the HPs on the 2.4L
I bet the production ones remove the TC/ABS/ESC defeats for liability reasons.
The lack of onboard video with audio bothers me.
If you have never driven one you cant knock it. They corner better then anything on the road hands down. I says this about thr Trex & not the Slingshot cuz haven't driven one yet but im sure its not far off. Anyone that loves riding bikes would love to rip one around. If you get the chance def do it, you will be surprised how much fun they are & the insane cornering capabilities of these machines.
I think that's the drivetrain out of a Pontiac solstice/ Saturn sky.
But alas, another toy made from an American company that isn't a sportbike or a dirtbike. Maybe someday we can get one.
I'm on the fence about this. I'd love to seeing in person before I commit. I've only got room in my warehouse for one more car and I'm getting ready to put a down payment on a new porsche. That down payment would pay for thus thing fully. I'm afraid it might suck though.
I am Interested in buying one, Connecticut says no thanks as a motorcycle so I will be heading north to purchase. Anyone get to drive/buy one yet? I see several dealers in NH and VT with units in showrooms ready to go. Always wanted a t-Rex just not the price tag and this seems to fit at $20k...
It won't do you any good to buy it out of state if you can't register it when you get it home.
Im picking mine up in april sometime. I already have the cash, just not the space. In april i can set up up my shelterlogic and hopefully shed myself of a few bikes to justify it. I'm going to get the basic one, i dont see a need for the fancy version.
I havent seen a place that let's you demo them yet. I've seen a few trolling the steet's of london however. They look slick but sound like poo.
I believe you can still register vehicles in Vermont by mail
why wont CT allow you to register it as a bike? thats what it is.
Edit: nevermind. CT says its because the seating is side by side. TX is similar as to why.
The tube frame and shaft drive screams for an aftermarket kit that allows you to convert it to an IRS 4 wheel car.
I've always wanted to build a tube frame vehicle of that nature that utilizes a WRX STI engine and drive train. That would be a riot.
well there ya go:

realistically, since the engine thats in there is a GM 2.4 found in the solstice and cobalt, the cobalt also offered a supercharged 2.0 that should bolt right in
I looked quickly before and the 2.4 to 2.0 swap isnt very straight forward. I do know companies are making supercharges for the 2.4l now. Thats probably the best bet.
