Anyone making alternate clamps? My CRF70 on 12s was stable at 100mph, get enough trail in the front and the Grom should be too.

Reaching into my box of straps for the CBR300 to take home, I found the key I lost. Good thing the lock set was only $40 to replace.

CBR300 motor pulled off the donor bike last night. New spark plug installed. just waiting on the swap hardware.
from the videos on YouTube, the block off plate, throttle bodies elbow, and the throttle body mods need to be done before the motor can get bolted to the frame. there is no clearance to do some of these things once the motor is in the frame.
sounds like a nightmare for future maintenance!
this motor i agree as it'll be pretty much all stock. i put a fresh plug in last night when the motor was on the workbench. it will have a cone style intake as there is no room for an air box on the Grom frame.
my red Grom has a high compression motor, so that would want plugs changed more often than the stock 300 swapped Grom.
Not required, but highly recommended. OEM Honda clutch cable, extended for the swapped motors. If you use your OEM a Grom clutch cable, it’ll fit very tight and no adjustments.

:twothumb: Nice progress, what your best case first ride / completion date?? Assuming no parts hold up...
Adapter for the Koso dash. This has been powdercoated to look OEM.
This bracket allows you to use OEM fairings for the Koso dash.

All I’m waiting for is the bracket to bolt the motor to the frame. I should have it done this week if that arrives soon.
Today I’ll be prepping the throttle bodies, cleaning the fuel injector, installing the TB elbow, and cleaning up the motor.

Put some clear silicone on the back of the dash to hold it better to that adapter plate, but it’s all installed again.

Cleaned the 300 injector with my makeshift kit, using an old injector connector from my wrecked GSXR harness. Throttle bodies had a lot of build up, so that’s all cleaned up now too.

Manual idle adjuster added. This is required for the swaps as the OEM idle will rev high at stops.
Fuel injector relocated to the 3D printed elbow (installed on motor). The black piece on the throttle bodies is a 3D printed plug for the OEM location for the injector.
Remember to lube the o-ring with motor oil before reinstalling your injector.

I clean all my injectors annually. The box is in the photo.

Got the mileage on the CBR dash last night from a fellow rider on the Grom groups. Sprockets are OEM and numbers match. So this is 100% the motor’s miles.
