Yea he used to ride a Hawk out there on the track (one arm) and I'd emailed with him a few times (as I used to race a Hawk). Good kid.

being on the track and having him pass you would be both inspiring and depressing.

    either way its still crazy.

I'd lob an arm off and head back out.

Knowing the fact of what he is faced with in racing and doing it with one arm is simply incredible.

    Re: Racing? Really?

I often wonder what it would be like to lose my right arm, and the first thing I always think of is how would I wipe my ass. I know you folks will think I'm making a joke but I'm really not. Obviously I'd learn to use my left arm (I'm a righty) but the first few months would be tough, I envision walking around with slip cheek alot...That would be my biggest fear....I always think about stuff like that for some reason. Other than that, It's pretty cool the kid races still and doesn''t sit on his ass feeling sorry for himself..

Having lost use of a hand for long periods, that actually is one of the first things you encounter that actually takes a moment to work around, and man is that an odd sensation trying to get your other hand to do the job for the first time...

His name's Adam. He shows up to bike night in VT every so often. Really decent guy that lost his arm in a motorcycle accident years ago.

If you want to see something amazing, you should see him bump start is old GSXR750.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a track day. Spent a few minutes checking out his setup. He does his own fabrication on his bikes. He was laughing telling me how he had to tig weld some of it together the night before the TD. I can't weld with 2 arms and a helper. Not to mention he can get around Loudon damn well. I kinda freaked when I came up behind him and saw his sleeve taped up at the elbow with blue painters tape early in the day. These guys rock!

I used to work with a guy that ran a big (d-8, d-9) bulldozer, was better at it than most two armed people. Refused to be labeled handicapped.
