Re: Range Rover runs over biker(s)
You know what assume means? No one here knows any of the circumstances or lack of them. That led to any of the actions taken by any of the participants.
I will say I'm more inclined to side with the tax paying producer in the Range Rover over a bunch of law breaking squids who think their entitled to rule the highway on stolen or unregistered uninsured bikes.

I got a merit badge in sailing.
Had this driver had a merit badge in sailing, he woulda done it better.

MarkMarine is prickly, but he seems pretty new here and doesn't understand when someone is trolling him or the playground rules.
His contention that the occupation of combat infantryman requires situational awareness and quick decision making is not made up - it's one of those "If you gotta ask, you'll never know" scenarios. And he and others concluding the SUV driver seemed to lack those qualities is proved by performance. So your hard on against his military experience, for whatever reason, is perhaps something to be taken up with him directly?
I would treat a pack of squids like a swarm of hornets - they are not smart, but they are nasty and there are a lot of them. Squid spray - got any?

You can visit Jay Meezee's FB page and take a read of the comments and make up your own mind about the general character of the people that were out for a pleasant ride that day. They mention Karma a lot...
From any lay person's perspective, a swarm of humanity like that sure looks a lot like a street gang.
"Police Commissioner Kelly said it was similar to an event last year with dozens of bikers, who call themselves "Hollywood Stunts," converging on Times Square. This is a major stunt event where motorcyclists from various locations come together. Their ultimate goal is to get into Times Square, which they did last year," Kelly said. "Quite frankly, it wasn't on anybody's radar screen last year. We were aware of it this year. To try to keep group from heading into Midtown Manhattan this year, police set up checkpoints throughout the city. Kelly said during that effort, 15 arrests were made, 68 summonses were issues and 55 motorcycles were confiscated."

Love this one...

Seconds later, some of the motorcyclists, most wearing face-covering helmets, crowded around the S.U.V.
Next thing outlawed, those face covering assault helmets evil bikers wear, because they are scary looking.
Thank the gods that Harley riders don't wear those assault helmets.

Nope. They wear these instead:

Notice this can't possibly be a real HD rider as that helmet has way too much padding.

Re: Range Rover runs over biker(s)
Brake checking and stopping the SUV on the highway is easily the single dumbest thing I've ever seen or heard of being done on a motorcycle. WTF did he think would happen? Push come to shove, that driver's getting out there, be it around, through or over you.
There's no excuse for that whatsoever... if that SUV had run ME off the road and one of YOU guys did that, as much as I appreciate the "help" I'd probably smack the shit outta you as soon as we both healed up. I wouldn't want anyone putting their lives in danger on my account like that. Absolutely no excuse.

Finally someone gets my sailing reference.THANK YOU
Re: Range Rover runs over biker(s)
The funniest thing I find about this while debacle is the amount of people who instantly side with the bikers because THEY ride. FB exploded with people calling for the guys "beat down" due to what happened and even on here people want to ignore the fact that 20+ bikes surrounded this SUV within a few feet and one of them brake checked from 3ft in front of his bumper. How much reaction time is taken up by that 3ft gap when it starts closing suddenly, nevermind if the guy is looking at one of the many other bikes trying not to hit any of them? I hadn't even watched the video before I thought to myself "Oh here we go again, typical internet people being complete ignorant fools about something just to show off being a macho idiot online so they can be seen in a certain light among peers". I hoped the video showed something different just so I wouldn't get pissed at how dumb people really are, but alas, I set myself up for disappointment yet again.
OH wait, I ride a bike so fuck that SUV guy he should of been killed and his wife and kid killed cause they don't ride bikes and anyone who owns a nice SUV is a prick who should die from vigilante (in)justice.
I'd rather flip the tide here. ALL OF THOSE RIDERS DESERVED TO GET RUN OVER CAUSE I SEE SQUIDS RIDING LIKE ASSHOLES ALL THE TIME. It's fun to lump people into a big generalization due to what they ride, isn't it?
If you ONLY see nice SUV's driving like assholes, you are blind as a deaf bat.

Holy shit, you must have a silver star to go around passing judgement. I had no idea there was a war hero on the board. Please, educate me about why you're better than me. I'd love to hear it.
Re: Range Rover runs over biker(s)
you know, one of the guys I work with(who rides) saw I was looking at this video. He had seen some of it on tv but only the part where the suv jumps the bikes. I showed him the whole video.
His response: "well, that changes things quit a bit."

Dude, you really need to let it go. Your comparison was a huge stretch as it sits, unless I'm mistaken and there is military guys driving around in Iraq unarmed in an unarmored SUV with their wife and infant kid in the car in a situation where they have zero expectation of violence or need to flee. You brought it up simply to make it known that military trained personnel have been trained to handle high stress situations, YES WE GET IT.

There is entirely too little snarkiness and sarcasm in this post for me to believe it came from you. Are you feeling alright?

Justice for Jay Meezee.
Or did he already get it?

If you have something negative to say (about the actions of the bikers) that obviously isn't the truth.

Sometimes I don't feel quite so angry at people's lack of logic and sense so the condescension isn't out in full force yet.
