Race bike = functional (Woodcraft)
Street Bike = functional/good looking (Vortex)

unless your that determined to get them locally checkout 1000rr.net
there are always rearsets going there all the time (vortex, sato, gills, woodcraft) and they are usually really cheap.
I have a set of Arrows for my bike....fucken shop still has them tho...over a year they have had them saying they are "waiting on a part"
So i borrowed said shops ramps....and have been using them hapily since and will continue until I get my rearsets back.
But if I have to buy again I'll prob go vortex or gills...JMO
I've had both. if you're never going to crash go Vortex. Wish I kept pics of the first lowside I had with Vortex, they're in a landfill somewhere now and Woodcraft just keep on ticking (x4)
Woodcraft. For Sure. I've gone through OSF, Vortex, Lighttech and now Woodcraft. IMHO, their peg gives you a lot more feedback over the smaller diameter pegs, which for me is priceless on the track. Someone already mentioned replacement parts because you WILL need them. If you crash, most of the time, you can bend their shit back into place. And if your trying to stay local... it doesn't get much closer.
Woodcraft.
Vortex make a half decent, passable sprocket, but a shitty rearset. Ride the bike with each in turn and check out the difference. There is a lot more to it than looks and knurls. What about footpeg diameter, joint construction/design, flex, angle of attachment to frame, anodizing quality. Gear selection is much much better with less play at all the joints, pivots etc and this is a big problem for me with Vortex.
If you want it to look blingy, go with Vortex. If you want it to FEEL good, go with Woodcraft.
Personally, I happen to think the Woodcraft's look better than most of them out there.
...and for heaven's sake stay away from Gilles. Those things are made out of chocolate and flex all of over the place.
Sato are the Rolls Royce if you never ever crash with them. Ball-bearing joints etc. I still prefer the look of Woodcraft though.
I've never really heard people call the vortex "blingy" - and I've only used rearsets that were adjustable to get the right riding position for me...
What is this flex and feedback everyone speaks of? I would assume the woodcraft flex more than the adjustables because of the generally long, thin stand-offs (opposed to thick adjustment plates bolted together)... As for durability, I've noticed woodcraft pegs are serious shit (but maybe to a fault - I've seen plenty of boomeranged woodcraft main peg-stays)... My vortex have sustained crashes, and only seldomly needed a peg replaced, and never a more costly part (pegs are about $20 each on the racer program I think).
I am a bit surprised not more people like adjustability - to the woodcraft advocates, have you switched from an adjustable and not missed anything? for me, it made it hard to hang off the bike, I set my vortex higher than the woodcraft, the length from the bottom of my boot to the back of my knee was too short to clear the seat with the woodcraft..
I just wish Woodcraft made some for my 1125R.... yup, useless post (new 1000RR is SCHWEET!)
Woodcraft... If you ever drop crash or anything, it saves a lot of headache.
It appears that most people are proud of the local support to the Woods and I've been very happy with them personally. Both for the street and the track.

Live life to its fullest, you never know when you'll get a second chance.
Off topic.
Chuck, when the hell did you get a new cbr? I must've missed a thread. Congrats!

Been a week and a half sine I picked it up.

Woodcrafts on my F4i are pretty mild but they still made riding a whole lot less comfortable so I switch back to stock for touring... then again, I'm a huge vagin, so YMMV...![]()
If you're not tracking the bike get Vortex. Looks like they have a lot more adjustability. Woodcrafts might not do it for ya depending how much you need to adjust them.

Vortex. Love them. You have to get use to them at first because as soon as your foot touches them, its not moving. There is no sliding your foot on the peg to get into position, you need to lift your foot off and plant it down in the right spot.

I'm used to this, since the aftermarket pegs that I put on the 900 were the same thing.
Still deciding. Thanks for all of the input. I also posed the question to the 1000rr.net group and only have votes for Vortex so far. Not sure what kind of people post there, since I'm a newbie. My gut feeling says their more of a bling crowd.
I have Woodcraft on the SV and I know how they handle a crash, since I had to replace some parts on them and was able to salvage the bracket (thanks to PK and a big hammer).
Just so confused. I think I just may do an eeny-meeny-miney-moe to choose.
