    Unhappy One reason to avoid trick carbon fiber... (Warning GROSS)

    Carbon fiber bicycle handlebar and what it did to the rider...

    Pretty freak accident though. I'll keep riding my CF fork and I still want a CF frame.

    If that is carbon fiber, why don't I see carbon fiber strands?
    it usually doesn't break clean like that....and why is it white on the inside? Just wondering...

    I was told it was CF... it does look like aluminum but there are a lot of CF things that don't appear to have the fibers. (It could be Al but the warning still stands... don't get stuff that is insanely light)

    I broke an Al bar last summer, it didn't break like that. In the last couple years there was a similar story to this with a CF seatpost and one with a rim, that caused the CF rims to get delayed to market by like a year. (Pro rider using it before it was on sale)
