    MAX BMW in NH??

Thinking of having them do a couple of things for my bike, service and some small aftermarket things.

Any experience with the service folks there?? good bad etc?

    Thanks

Both MAX BMW's are my busiest dealers right now. They are never NOT busy. If you search on-line, you find lots of people saying how they took care of them. I don't ride BMW, but Max does have an excellent reputation.

I know a bunch of BMW owners who all swear by Max. Great shop, from everything I've heard.

Max's is a good shop - however, if you are just doing the routine maintenance on the GS, it can save a *ton* of money to learn how and do it at home - they're pretty simple machines thankfully

I've used them for all the work on my R1200RT. There really hasn't been anythign but oil changes and checking things but I've been happy and the pickup and delivery is great.

Why is it that everytime someone talks about having a dealer do some routine work, someone always pipes up with

"you can save a *ton* of money by doing it yourself"

for some of us, paying a mechanic is the least expensive way to get things done, and it could be for many reasons

    1. your time is more valuable than the mechanics
    2. your mechanicly inept
    3. no tools or workspace
    4. you get reimbursed for vehicle expense
    5. you would rather have someone else responsible for mistakes

Yea, that sounds attractive. I pity the guys who are unloading and loading 800 pound beamers all day! Mine is a lightweight in the 5's.

    Re: MAX BMW in NH??

I've always just enjoyed doing that kind of work. Finding out what makes what I enjoy tick, and ensuring it ticks well is fulfilling to me - and love it or hate it BMW service costs can be pretty vicious. Doubly so once you find out what is actually involved.

I like to know whats in what I sit on, how it works, and if I can, how to fix it

I would agree though - its not for everyone, and the points you bring up are totally valid.

    Re: MAX BMW in NH??

Max has a woman mech. now they stole her from 2nd. wind in Mancester. Do not know the story be she has worked on my bike before. Some work you can do yourself other work it's worth $60-$70 an hr. to got it gone and over to ride. I find out when they have a pick up for the Cambridge Police R1200 RTP's & piggy back a ride up to Max's for work done.

My buddy who races sidecar used to work for them and goes to them for all his HP2 needs, I hear nothing but good things.
