Who rides a vintage streetbike?

When i got this it had no seat or fenders so i thought street tracker look would work. Had a friend cut the rear section off(no going back now) and fab up mounts for the swap meet flat track body work. It had a 4 into 1 Vance pipe on it that was rusted thru but the seller had the 4 into 2 wrapped up in the garage, just cleaned them up. The forks were rebuilt by Speed Demon Cycles and the tubes were slid into the triple clamps 2" to drop the front end. Rear shocks are new vintage E-bay items. Wheels are stock repainted black. Rear light is a dirt bike piece flipped to fit into tail piece. Carbs and intake were rebuilt plus new electrics for the parts that melted in the gas leak fire. Tank was then sealed and painted. Motor runs 100% but the trans has a broken 3rd gear. Didn't find that little bit of knowledge till after the rest was complete. Trailer queen for now.

I went kinda nuts with the safety wire. And, yeah, the wiring harness should emerge from the other side of the tank, I know:

Hutchinson did the paint last winter. Can't bring myself to glue the knee pads back onto the tank:

History: I sold the bike new in August 1969, 'way back in my dealer days, to a guy in Carlisle MA, and bought it back in 1974. Now has close to 20K miles. I took a little ride through Concord and Carlisle MA today in the noonday heat ... nice ... .

I'm going to do something to this thing over the winter. I love this bike. I got it free from the Black Squirell put a new battery in it, some fresh gas, new brake pads, oiled the chain, and changed the oil. Thing started up 4 cranks of the starter. I have been riding the bag out of it for a few years now. I absolutely love this bike. I put some dirt bike bars on it. The girl and I ride it everywhere in the summer. To the beach, for ice cream, mini golf, you name it.

72 CB750. Converted it to dual cross-drilled disc front, Giuliari-replica seat, and some clubmans. I recently picked up a 1972 MA plate to register it under to complete the ensemble.

Since these pics, I've dropped the crashbars, swapped the lunchbox-sized taillight for a more compact one off a '69, mounted up some progressive shocks (rear) I scored off eBay, and some groovy foam air filters of unknown origin.

im a vintage junkie too... ive got a couple old xs bikes and my shop specializes in vintage as much as new:beerbang::beerbang: check out my website and look at the old KZ 750 twin i resto modded.. just got done restoring a 1983 GPZ1100.. you should stop by my shop sometime... youll love it

Can't say I actually ride one...yet. My goal is to get this up to rice-o-rama. I had some other things that needed to be done for a while, but I'm getting the itch to get it going again. Here is a before, during and current. The crank goes out next week to be rebuilt, then I can start getting the motor back together. At least it's nice and cool in the basement.

got an 81 xs 400 that I bought years ago to teach the wife how to ride. Nothing special, but I take it back and fourth to work sometimes.

I've got a 79 KZ750 twin that I aspire to cafe.... And my Zephyr 750 aspires to be vintage.... I would really love an old english bike.

74 CB200 just about done-ish because these old things never are done. Mine is a bit of a hack job. I also set up a real pos cl175. Now that I've done a few real hack jobs I may take the time to really do one right. I picked up a 72 CL350 that is a real basket case. Anyone have any stuff for one of those lying around? It came in boxes with a rolling frame.

CB200 - Drag Bars, home made tail, cheap ass turn outs and an old set of brit bike rearsets.... Just shoveled an Avon Railrider on the front and going to do the same in a few weeks to the rear [fundage a little slow right now]
