started on the street at 16 with an EX250...so, that makes 11 years.
I rode dirt bikes from the time I was about 10 until a few years ago. I got my first street bike in April of last year. So I guess a little over a year on the street and about 10 years in the dirt.
7 yrs- got my license first thing when I hit 16.
Started on a honda scooter when I was 11, then at 14 an XR200R, then a break and at 24 a kz750ltd and then at 30 a CBR1000f, so about 13 years or so.

Off road since 1971 (mini bikes), on street in 1976 (1968 Honda CB160), began roadracing 1986 (Yamaha RD400), and still going.
So, I guess that makes 37 years.
Been riding 6 years, before that was an avid passenger on the husband's ride. Always been around 4 wheelers and 3 wheelers playing in dirt before that, no 2 wheeled dirtbikes tho. :(
First Bike was back in 90. VFR 700. Started my love affair with Honda.. :jerkoff:
got a dirtbike when i was 3 and have ridden motocross a good amount. Got a streetbike when I was 21 or so and road it for a few years. Then just got my 636 at 28 and have put almost 2K miles on it...so not much street really I guess I would say.
18 years street and add another 6 to that for dirt riding...
WOW, 24 years riding....holy fuck that makes me look old as all hell
Does the womb count? If so since 1980.
By myself, about 15 years....I feel old and I am not that old!
This is my fourth summer on a sport bike. Had ridden other peoples bikes here and there before that. Had a kx 80 when I was 13. Mini bikes b4 that. Lets just say 4 real years with no track experience yet.
Redacted cuz Doc is a ball buster :dickhead:
:D
When people say they "road dirt bikes" does this mean you were riding everyday or just putting around a few times a summer?
If you were not riding a signifigant amount I would say it doesn't count towards years of experience.
I was riding a dirtbike at 10 years old (intermittent, "raced" 1 "season" when I was 12) but didn't get a streetbike until I was 21.
by dirtbikes i mean I raced nesc when I was younger and now race nemx and try to jump ramps at a friends place. I think overall I'd be considered a newb on streetbikes if you count real years of seat time...but I don't think that way since I don't ride shakey and sketch.:naughty
Don't we need to account for the quality of seat time? I mean, I think we can all agree that highway hours don't accrue the same kind of experience as track hours. But what about seconday roads? Horse paths? Train tracks.
What's needed is a table of multipliers based on road difficulty, which can then be applied to the hours of seat time to arrive at a proper metric for determining the cash/prize winner.
Doc? You gonna get on this one?
What shall I do....I'm slow, so my seat time does not reflect the same miles as others.
6 years got my permit when I was 15 and some odd months and took the MSF course a week or two later in 2003. First bike was a 96 FZR 600 and I rode the hell outta it.
