despite it being like most of what he has done already... I like Jesse's Bike. I look at it like this I can RIDE his bike and not worry about shit. Not that laid over track thing or a bike that blows exhaust in my face and has a rear tire that is tall and skinny....
Just one mans (mine) opinion !
The show is on live right now and it's the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Some douchebag announcer trying to mend the Jr./ Sr. relationship like this is some psuedo Dr. Phil show. Then they invite Jesse on and egg him on to talk trash, it's like a scheduled argument. I don't even know what to make of this amount of stupidity. I'm having a hard time finding the proper terms to describe this "bike build off trash talk family time shitty musical guest" event that they are broadcasting.

The only thing I didn't like about the show was them not showing Jesse's reaction after the results

Both Jr and Sr's bikes are ridiculous. Too bad 80% of the votes are from people that have no real idea what to look for in a good bike.
Really don't like the host. just something about him. Plus like you said they were trying to get something going. Stupid.
May the gaudiest bike win I guess. Those wheels are hideous. A seat with no padding. Exhaust that basically blows in your face. I could go on and on. And it could maybe go 20 miles between fuel ups. Please.
Jesse by far had the better bike and is far more skilled than either Paul could ever hope to be.
I don't think any of those bikes are "ride-able".
Jr's bike has the aforementioned exhaust problem.
Sr's thing isn't even a bike.
and
JJ's bike, the tree is so tall you can't see shit in front of you and you have to drive it like a grandma looking through the steering wheel.
They are exercises in the ludicrous at the least and mechanical sculptures at the most.
Any preference boils down to one thing, personal taste.

Very dissapointed. I was really psyched about this series when the trailers first aired. I' like to see a show where all three share one build and see what they come up with . Ha ha. What a friggin dud.

Disappointing. Jesse James should have taken the opportunity to build something more rideable, a great custom bike that someone might actually take out for a 300-mile ride on a regular basis, not something to pose with. I know he has the skill; I've seen bikes like that he's built.
Paul Sr's contraption made it obvious he wasn't even trying to win because he knew he couldn't. And Paul Jr's bike was like everything else he builds: rolling art that's not really meant to be ridden. (I didn't say it was good art...) It never ceases to amaze me how he'll seize on a "design element" and force it in regardless of whether it actually looks good or not. Those propeller wheels looked idiotic and completely out of place.
Not that any of this was a surprise. Of course American Chopper fans were going to vote for Paul Jr.

Bring back the REAL biker build-off show they used to have. Not the "who's more popular" show.
That being said, I actually like Jr's plane themed bike. I'm not a huge fan of the 30" wheels, but it is the more innovative of the three.
My initial reaction to both Jr's and Sr's was "thats not a chopper", as I think Jesse even later said. But what IS a chopper? I'd think the idea is to build to be unique and different, not build to what people's image is.
That said, I'm pretty confident a chopper is a motorcycle, not a tank. Sr's was pretty impressive, I liked the concept. Reminded me of something a hollywood builder might produce, but was in no way even close to a new take on a motorcycle. Also, watching their troubles with the track system, it was pretty clear that you couldn't ride the thing more than in parking lots. I don't like to throw in the "not ridable" stuff because a chopper is more for looks, not for a customer to ride long distance in many cases. But I don't think you could even reliably take it to "the strip" to show off with.
Jr's bike had some absolutely spectacular parts to it. But I just couldn't get over the over-all look. It reminded me more of an art-deco pimp-mo-bike from the 20's, instead of an airplane inspired motorcycle. So with that, I voted for Jesse.
His was simple, and not really innovative. But it just demonstrated the finest finesse for picking the right lines.
Oh, and that was my reaction to watching the re-run BEFORE the live thing. That live show was a total clown show.

I liked Jr's the best too out of the 3 but they were all ugly in my eyes. At least Jr tryed to do something innovative, Sr project was the stupidest thing i have ever seen and JJ's bike was just ok.
the best part of all 3 bikes were the swingarm and front fork on Jr's bike
i think Jr just needs to get off the "theme" bike thing and just build a fucking bike to ride.
I also think Jesse James is the biggest poser of all 3 of them... at least Sr and Jr never stopped building bikes to married a hollywood star and have those ridiculous shows where they build some stupid monster truck that can eat other cars or some bullshit like that. JJ thinks he the coolest guy in the world and to me he is even more washed up than the other two morons
Watched it as well.
Sr's - My reation to what they wanted to build was a WTF?????? Tha'ts not even a motorcycle. I thought the point of the show was to build a "Motorcycle".
JJ's - Was the most traditional "Motorcycle". Wasn't anything special. Tree was definately way too high up.
Jr's -Definately unique and more of a work of art verses a bike that is rideable. The rims looked odd, I felt it clashed with the bike.
if I had to pick a bike to actually ride, probably JJ's. If I wanted to display the bike like in a museum or something, totally Jr's.
Well they accomplished the real mission to have you watch the commercials as the show aired.
I guess during these times its hard to find the promotional budgets. They certainly could go for a theme bike shoot out for a single customer, extra logo time. If they were less fringe they might be able to get big boys like Coke or Bud.
Easy
Billed bike
Concept art vote show
10 laps at a sport car road track head to head
Drag race 3 runs best 2 of 3
Sixty to zero braking test best 2 of 3
I would add a trip to Miami Beach and have Swimsuit Girls ages 16 to 30 to vote for the one they like best
The calculus of hate
It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die
I particularly like how Jesse made a display of genuine craftsmanship. Most in the audience have no appreciation for a rideable motorcycle. And yes, it was nice to see Jr. and Sr. have a civilized conversation but the entire thing did look staged. And it did suck that they did not show Jesse's reaction.
Bottom line: Jesse built a bike, Jr. built a work of art that is better suited for a museum, and Sr. built some sort of concept vehicle that is hardly rideable.
I thought a chopper was a bike that was modified to the owners taste , and still rideable, looking at JJ bikes, I didn't see 1 that had rear suspension. I don't think that's a bike I want to ride 300 miles. Not all of Jr's bikes have a 1 gal gas tank and exaust that close to your face. I'd take the airplane bike around the track.
Beat It Like A Rented Mule !!
Legend in my own mind
i've been watching but I do have to agree with Jesse James on one thing. The OCC guys and PJD guys are building art more than they are motorcycles. While it is nice they are not nearly ride-able. I mean they just did the bike build off and Sr's electric trike would get the best mileage but it looks like a toy and not something you would ride every day. Jr's bike had a full 1 gallon gas tank, woah you have to fill up every 20 miles.
While Jr won the build-off it was more or an piece of art.
The OCC and PJD guys are very talented in making art but if only they would focus on making them things you can actually ride on the street it would be better
Now before yall jump my case I am not saying everything they have made is artwork nor bad
I've watched the show on and off and yea it has become more about family drama than building bikes and when things like that happen I tend to stop watching.
I have watched all the 24 shows that have come out however even that turned into a sappy soap opera style show in the end.
Jesse James made a pretty chopper with copper accents awhile back.

I think this "looks" awesome, but I don't understand why someone who can make a bike from scratch would make one that looks so uncomfortable to ride.
If I could make a bike with the workmanship that all of these guys can bring to a project, I would be making bikes that look good and are comfortable to ride all day long.

And then there's this cafe racer West Coast Choppers turned out back in 2005 or 2006. It came about by Honda giving WCC a VTX 1800 engine to see what they could do with it. The rest of the bike was fabricated around the engine.
Further proof that Jesse James can build bikes that are actually functional. I'd love to ride this bike.

You forgot the best picture:
(source) http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...tx-cafe-racer/
Air suspension, shaft drive, and the rear brake on the shaft
But I took things as a vote on the three bikes brought to the show, not their history. It was a bike build off, not bring your collection of work.
And not a single one of those is ride-able long distance, so you can throw rideability out the window. Though Jesse did claim in the first 2hr build special that he likes to build bikes you can drive at 100mph to sturgis and back. Or something like that. Ya... no thanks.

just because you all don't/wont ride a hard tail, doesn't mean there aren't people out there that will for long distances. I've ridden 200 miles in a day on one and it wasn't all that bad. The same with the high neck on the frame. It's a look. BUT it's a safe and proven look you can ride them 'to Stugis and back' It's just not a bike that is in favor on this sight.
The other two while art are just that. art and not for the road.
Comfort is relative to your age, size, physical condition....I dont think I have ever even considered comfort as a factor when buying any of my past bikes. Probably because I have no interest in riding them all day long either though. As a matter of opinion, when comfort goes up the visual appeal goes down typically (as applied to sportbikes and "choppers")
I was really looking forward to the "build off" but was left pretty disappointed. From the lame ass host to the retarded snowmobile; almost everything rubbed me the wrong way.
We need more shows like Monster Garage, Junkyard Wars or Motor City Motors.
PS: Jesse James has been called a neo-Nazo but went to Israel to study blacksmithing?
