I did 27000 miles in the first three years of riding, now I'm really busy and did about 1500 miles this summer...i can why people give up and sell it. I'm just trying to figure out how i can afford to take days off and go track only next year so i MAKE time to ride.

Not everyone that starts to ride is passionate about it. My old roommate could take or leave it. Its just like any other hobby, if you're not crazy about it and its a choice between a bike in the driveway and a few grand in your pocket... I'm pretty sure I know which one I'd choose.

they dont make time to ride

Just because you don't have time to ride so much does not mean your not passionate about it......
Sometimes life must come over the riding time...
Is suspect more than half the ads should say "must sell bike, no skills to ride"
Some people are naturally good at working with machines; they can easily figure out how to operate a backhoe, a snowmobile, a table saw, an arc welder, a wakeboard, a motorcycle, an ATV, a car with a stick-shift, etc. There's something in them that makes these tasks intuitive, easy and fun for them. The smarter ones also tend to try to improve their skills and knowledge, since the basic operation comes easily. If you enjoy docking a boat in the wind, ripping it up on dirt bike, track days on a sport bike, competive shooting, and/or if you have a airplane pilot's license, you are likely one of these people.
There's also people who simply lack these skills. Learing how to control a machine is simply frightening for them. You can try to teach them, and they can get proficient enough to make do, but they never really master things mechanical becuase they expend so much brain power and effort to simply deal with basic operation. I imagine these folks are one of the better sources for low mileage, used toys.
How about saying I got talked into purchasing this bike by a very good sales person. I don't know why I did this and hope it doesn't happen again.
I can understand it. I've managed to put 2500 miles on my bike and that's without riding in most of May and June cuz it never stopped raining. The only ads that really piss me off is when people literally have brand new bikes with only a few hundred miles and use that excuse! But sometimes I think about selling it and pocketing 6k.

no bike
Another thing is...
Why do we care why a seller is selling?? Really I could care less.. don't even bother putting it on there, its always the same thing either way: $
I just want to see price, pics, and condition.

Where are the twisties at????
Yeah, but if you're pounding out thousands-of-miles seasons with all the rain up there this year, you're diggin' the bike, Gixxer. You ain't givin' that thang up. I took delivery on the C-14 in late June, hadda do a lotta bizz in Fla, Charlottesville, Va, and the move up to North Shore. Got the bike up there with only a thousand miles, and the days I've been up there the last month, it's 250-350 miles a day North through Kittery, on up to Bangor, across to N.H. and back to the Shore. Unfortunately, it's only been on a few days, cause that's all I've been up to ride. Now that the move will be over tomorrow, I'll be back up and I'm gonna wear that bike OUT the next couple of months. No job, no life, and gotta chickie that likes ridin' bike up there. I'm thinkin' Quebec.
Life is fixin' to be real good with Va. in the rear view. It's finally over down here. But regardless of all that, ya gotta love ridin', ya can't be scared of it, and it has to be something you burn to do or, well, you don't DO it. I think a lot of peeps dig the fantasy, get the bike, start in, and decide it just ain't for them for whatever reason. It's fair. Hey, they gave it a shot, right?

I'm one of those guys. . . I just sold my bike, because I didn't need a $15000 bike sitting in the garage for all but 2 -3 hours a week.
I've been riding since 1989 (that's longer than some of you have been alive) and have a couple hundred thousand miles in seat time, including a few cross country trips with just a sleeping bag and $20. My kids are 6 and 7, and are pretty active. There is something going on most nights, and at least 1 weekend day. This year I put about 1000 miles on the bike.
So the free time I do have is split between my other hobbies (I build cars, shoot IDPA, skeet, etc). So I sold the bike.
BUT, I'm looking for another bike now. It wasn't worth keeping my Confederate in the garage, but for a couple thousand miles a year I'll be picking up someone elses $5000 bike that they don't ride
currently just an oldman bike, but searching for my new ride
.Sold to a guy in Mississippisearching for a new ride.
