fyi in MA if you're on your bike and a traffic light will not change for you, by state law you can treat the light as "broken". That means you can proceed as if it had been a stop sign, and go when it is safe to do so.

the "when it is safe to do so" is critical obviously, and I can't believe the person in that article was found only 49% responsible for proceeding when it was NOT safe to do so.

Why on earth did the family sue the engineering comp? They should have gone after that dumb ass 71 yo woman.

drivers ed book staes if the light doesnt change, then to treat it as a stop sign. just llike a blinking red light

thanks for all the help, guys. turns out it's a dead battery. i must have fried it hitting the starter at the light. i've done it before, but for whatever reason, this time the battery just couldn't take it. i'm dropping it off a the shop next weekend for them to further inspect (they didnt have a boatload of time when i went in friday). so i'll find out if there's anything else then.. but he said it looks like i just need a battery.
